I've been using cheap inserts for years with my PLA prints and always had problems with plastic getting into the threads. I finally used most of them up and decided to try this new design that has a narrowed tip before the knurled piece. This makes it not only easier to align just right but also keeps plastic out of the threads. I'll never go back to the flat design.
