When our fireplace stopped working I applied a voltometer to the ends of the wire that come from the transformer. There was zero voltage. This replacement works just like the original and my heatilator fireplace is working again.

dead on arrival......

It is really hard to write a lengthy review for a power adapter so I waited a few weeks to make sure it has been functioning properly. I will note a few things here. I am not using it for its intended purpose but I did run it on my Fluke multimeter and it averaged 3.37 volts. In my application, it's on for 12 hours a day and powered off by a timer. It has been working flawlessly. My only concern is with the price as $18.99 seems a bit steep for a low-voltage, low-current AC power adapter, but I could not justify a full star deduction for that.

I always rolled my eyes anytime I would hear someone complain about items smelling, but let me tell you, the box this adapter came in so smells so dang bad. I tossed it in the trash right away. But the smell didn't stop, it is the cord! Oh well, now that I've gotten that out of the way, it's just your basic adapter with terminals built in. My chicken coop runs off of two AA batteries, which always fail at the worst times leaving my chickens stuck in the coop. This adapter will convert my outlet 110v down the measure the voltage supplies by the AA batteries...which is 3volts. Once the cord has aired out and gassed off it's horrible smell I'll put it all together and update the review.
