Volkman Avian Science Super Finch (2 lb)

I've bought Kaytee's and other ubiquitous brands for my society finches for years. I noticed they largely left the nijer seeds and many of the colored bits behind. It suddenly occurred to me to look for something without so many nijer seeds, and in reading reviews for this blend I ordered it. Unbelievable! The way my babies (I have two) dove into this (literally), you'd have thought they had never eaten before! Normally they just pick, seemingly finicky, without any display of enthusiasm whatsoever. I couldn't believe it- they chomped and chomped, would have smacked their lips if they had them, spent a good 15 minutes at their little double-trough chomping away and afterwards SAT in them like nests, eminently satisfied. I've never seen such behavior. I got the distinct impression these seeds are softer, more malleable, not only more tasty but seemingly easier and more enjoyable to eat.My birds aren't caged (that is, the doors are left open), they have plenty of opportunities for fun and flight. I also provide them with growing butter lettuce and wheat grass, and treats. They land on my head or shoulder when they get excited, and they do this when I bring out the bag (never before). So I am pleased, to say the least, to find I can further enhance their well-being by simply changing their birdseed to a blend they so obviously LOVE. The only caveat is that I'm now feeding them less per day and monitoring this closely, because they'd soon be too fat to fly at the rate they gobble these seeds. Worth every penny, highest recommendation!

Zoey has NEVER loved a food like she loves this! She has never snacked in between her 3 normal times she eats from her always-stocked bowl - but now she actually gleefully eats even between meals. We are so happy about this. Again - Zoey loves it, so we will always have it for her!!

Zebra finches love this seed! Little to no seed waste. Delivery was faster than expected. Will buy this item again.

My birds will eat it and they look healthy and are more lively. They are very picky eaters and it's difficult to make sure they are getting the nutrients they need.
