Get one
This is my favorite out of the two orders that I got when it comes to a handmade Knives and Bush crafting stuff. This is a very good axe And it comes with a sharpening stone, It is well balanced in your hand with the very nice grip and fit from front to back, worth it's money And just look at it , it looks awesome It's.A beautiful piece.

Awesome
I can't speak to functionality, it seems sturdy but I haven't bashed it into anything. The indexing isn't great, it feels kinda round in the hand it has a similar feel to a two handed axe not a hatchet. It does come with extra pins for a new handle, and sanding down the current one should be easy enough. It looks awesome and was a great price. It has some flaws but it is totally worth the price and definitely worthy of a 5 star review. When the only flaw is as subject as feel can it really be considered a flaw?

broken handle, uneven grinds
the axe I received has a big chunk missing from the handle. the grinds on the blade are pretty uneven, and the cheap "leather" sheath barely fits. amazon customer service sucks, so i guess I'll just go get another handle. i should have got the crkt I had my eye on. buyer beware, you get what you pay for...**Update**what a piece of junk!! I knew the grinds were bad, but I didn't realize how bad. it doesn't cut, it bludgeons. the handle is too small amd skinny for the heavy head so it just rolls in your hand. I tried to sharpen the axe and realized that A: the grinds were so uneven I would likely have to spend a couple hours filing it, and B: the blade actually chipped and rolled from cutting a few (5 or 6) pinky sized branches. I don't need a paper weight, I'm returning and buying a better hatchet. don't waste your time or money

Pretty good
My only complaint about this axe is the handle, which is far too lightweight for the (very heavy-duty) blade. The balance is simply not ideal as a result. However, let's be honest: you're paying for the metal, not the wood, and that seems fine.

Nice Hatchet
I needed a hatchet for carving so I took a chance on the quality of this hatchet. It has good quality steel and the handle appears sturdy.

Functional, but arrived with many scratches
The Megami - Camping Axe and Hatchet - 14.8" Vking Axe with Sheath, Forged Carving Axe Survival Hatchet for Chopping Camping Survival: $49.99 as of 01/22/24I have mixed feelings about this axe. It does have a nice heft, and the design is a lot of fun. It comes with a leather sheath, sharpening stone, and an edge guard. Not described in the listing is the black string, which I presume is to pass through the hole in the handle to wrap around your wrist. But I am not sure what the two metal ferrules/inserts are for. While the axe arrives with an edge guard, you be hard pressed to cut cold butter with it. It's very dull and you will need to sharpen it first for real use. I tried the included sharpening stone, starting with the coarse side first then finishing it off with the finer side. It did a respectable job, and I can now split a 2x4, but I'll likely fine tune it with other sharpeners we have.Besides needing an axe of this size, I was attracted to the Viking design and frankly how shiny it was, lol. However this is where I am disappointed. There are a ton of scratches and fine nicks all around, and on one side the black 'paint' is buffed right off in a spot.Does that affect usability? No. Yes, it will get scratched more with use, but it shouldn't arrive in this condition. So if your plan is to order this for ornamental purposes, be careful. YMMV of course. Perhaps I got a bad one.

Handy little hatchet
So far so good. Been using it for a couple weeks and after a bit of work sharpening it works well for splitting kindling and other small tasks. The bearded head comes in handy to hook onto a pocket or belt while switching tasks during dropping trees on my property.
