Are these child resistant?

All BIC lighters are childproof. If you don't like the child proof, take a small knife and pry underneath and pull out the back (of the child proof device) first then remove the front of it near the flame. Use caution when doing this and keep your thumb on top of the child proof device. It's all fun and games until someone loses an eye

will the butane evaporate? if i buy this with intention of saving 60 bucks over 3-4 years would it work?

I believe the butane would only evaporate if you stored it in a hot place where it would cause the lighters to leak. I've had mine for over a year and still have plenty left to use. They all have worked fine.

How long for shipping?

goes out the same day or next day, thru the post office.

Does they come un-scratched and in the package?

They are attached to a plastic block, which is the original packaging and the individual lighters all have their own bar code stickers.

A lighter is a horrible thing to be without.

I am not a pyromaniac. I don't smoke. I don't attend barbecue conventions. I don't own a gas station. So, you may wonder, why would I buy a pack of Bic Mini Pocket Lighters?Well, they are pretty reliable, have an excellent shelf life, and in a pinch are a pretty terrible thing to not have.Unfortunately within days of adding these to my emergency supply closet, a call went out for blocks of lighters. there was an urgent need, and here they were. I could get them to and air lift pickup location in fifteen minutes.Why a block of lighters? We never know when our community will be in need. It may never benefit you at all, but I can tell you from unfortunate life experience, it is far better to have supplies to help your neighbors and not need them, than to need them and not have them.
