Review: Pleasantly surprised! - I was skeptical of this converter for the price, boy was I pleasantly surprised though! The installation was an easy step by step process and the software worked flawlessly. I am running a Lenovo PC with Windows 7. Two very important points: You do NOT have to transfer the video from VHS to your PC and then to DVD... you can route it through the PC direct to the DVD in real time, this is great! Also, there is a window on your PC screen that shows the video being transferred and remaining time. All in all,this is one of the best purchases I ever made, I am a very happy customer and I will add this to the list of Gigaware items that have proven themselves to perform as well as much more expensive items!

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Product works well, its very useful for the price

This device does what it says it will. I used it to convert some precious VHS tapes into digital versions. It comes with software to make this possible. The only downside to the software is that to get high quality videos, the encoder makes HUGE video files. Several gigabytes for an hour of tape. Its possible that I could tweak the settings to find a more optimal encoder setting, making the file sizes smaller. In general I'm very happy with what I paid for the product and the fact that I have been able to immortalize home videos.
