The smokeless fire pits are really the way to go if you have the room/space and can afford a well made version. I only have experiece with one brand and it works great I wont mention any specific brands but they might be making cups as well. That out of the way the mat is really heavy duty that I can see this lasting for many seasons and if needed better when needed I would be coming back to order another. The size fits perfectly under the pit and is really going add some added protection to the surface as the just as fire pits go the radiant is closer to the surface area were I wanted to ensure that I could have this place for any mishaps.

As is snowy in the northeast, I have not yet tried this mat, but I opened it to see what it was like.I ordered the 59" diameter mat and it arrived vacuum packed down to something a bit smaller than a standard piece of 8.5x11 paper. I had my reservations when I saw how compact this package was, but after I opened the package, it unfolded into a rugged feeling mat with some decent thickness to it.After being unfolded, the creases came out of it pretty quickly. A nice finishing touch is the edging sewn around it, rather than a raw edge. Since I'm storing this mat in the basement until the spring, I was pleased to find that it doesn't have a terrible odor.I'm looking forward to using this under the grill.

I have been looking for something to put under our Yukon Solo Stove to protect the outside flooring and this mat will do that. It is not pretty, it is functional. It is a large round, shiny black mat, with a rubbery feel. It is large enough to span past the edges of the stove on all sides by a good two feet. This will definitely serve its purpose.

I got this thinking it was for a table top fire pit based on the image but this is fact much larger. That's on me. Works great for our outdoor fire pit though. Easy to clean and put up when not in use.

This fire mat will be perfect for a larger Solo stove. We used it without tiny wood burning fire pit and the embers landed multiple times with embers landing on the mat. No damage to the mat or the composite deck after wards. You'll be pleased with this fire mat.
