Pleasantly surprised.
I wanted to be able to do bonfires in front of my shop, but there is asphalt everywhere and it can’t take the heat. I tried this out and it works great! I just put this down and my small pit on top of it and the asphalt below is barely warm after a nice fire on a cool night. I don’t know if it save grass like it says, but it definitely worked for asphalt. I don’t know how it would do on a really hot day or evening, but for fall and spring, this is going to work great!

Perfect for deck space.
I have not actually had a chance to use my grill yet but have the mat down. I am hoping to prevent any sparks or drops of embers from falling below onto my wooden deck.

NOT AS ADVERTISED
FALSE advertising! This is NOT a heat shield, it will not protect your deck or yard if the fire pit or grill is too low! It’s just a flimsy piece of fabric. It burned my grass even worse than if I had used nothing, because it actually traps the heat! Be warned!!! Seller should not be allowed to advertise this for grass, decks, or fire pits. Horrible!
