ST6000VN0033 Iron Wolf Multimedia Server Storage 6TB Internal Hard Drive 3.5" - SATA

I'm very, very skeptical when it comes to ordering Hard Disks online and having their faith in hands of careless shipping services, especially when you don't see how it is packed. Lucky me for considering only review here and making sure I'm purchasing straight from amazon. Drive comes OEM sealed in static shielding bag from manufacture ensuring there was no tamper with the disk. Placed in plastic bumpers on both edges to ensure minimal play in a cardboard box. Drive is in raid 1 and reads perfectly healthy just like 1st drive purchased and picked up locally. Temperatures are also on pair. Further experience with seagate ironwolf may bring me back with updates to this product. So far so good, with 1st drive being on for over a month with out single shut off of my Qnap TS-453Be. UPDATE: Nearing Year of constant power-on with zero power fails, the drive works flawlessly! KNOCK-ON-WOOD! Yes, I would recommend these drives! Little on the loud side, but then which drives in RAID arrays in cheaper NAS enclosures wouldnt be audible when accessed? Very happy with their snappy and cool performance!

The Seagate 6 TB provides an economical way to increase the capacity of a storage or other server.

I think SSD's make more sense

Worked great on my RAID array, easy swap in and should outlive my older WD red drives which seem to be dying by the handful now at 3 years old.

As confirmed directly with Seagate support, both the drives I purchased have 0 warranty. Their advice was to return the drives, and told me that Amazon is in fact an authorized reseller, and one should only purchase directly only if "sold by Amazon".

Perfecto para NAS y en general para cualquier equipo. Le dan mil vueltas a los western digital blue que tenía antes montados en raid. Me ha sorprendido la velocidad de forma sorprendente y sobre todo por que los tengo conectados por USB hasta que me llegue el otro que pedí. Aun así, me ha dado velocidades de 175MB/s en escritura y lectura. Recomendada la compra. Respecto al embalaje, comentarles que me lo han enviado en una bolsita anti estática, todo rodeado de acolchado antiestatico, el mio que ha ido a parar a las islas, ha llegado correctamente. Saludos!!.

I’m expecting this review to be rejected as it’s not painting Amazon in a good light, but as there’s no way to complain I will continue to submit until I get a response, for as long as it takes! I’ve been using Ironwolf drives for some time now and they’re proving to be reliable, much better reliability than the old Barracuda drives from Seagate. My only issue is the clowns that package such a delicate piece of electronic hardware in a flimsy cardboard envelope. They’ll send out a pack of batteries in a two foot square box surrounded by air pillows, but risk damage to precision engineered mechanical hard drives in packaging that will happily fit through the letterbox only to go crashing to the floor doing all kinds of unseen damage (as the delivery driver has no indication as to how delicate the contents are...) No more hard drive orders from Amazon for me, the risk of damage is too great.

Ho acquistato questo articolo venduto e spedito da Amazon, il pacco è arrivato in 2 giorni lavorativi, nella solita confezione Amazon. Questa volta all'interno del pacco (ovvero dove c'era Hard Disk) invece di trovare una bella quantità di Pluriball o di carta, per evitare botte all'Hard disk, ho trovato una misera carta che aveva la funzione di " NIENTE". Comunque dato che l'avevo acquistato per backup principalmente, vado a collegarlo al pc, ma non da segno di vita..... cosi chiedo la sostituzione. Arrivato dopo un paio di giorni collego il nuovo hard disk arrivatomi in sostituzione di quello precedente, e appena faccio partire il pc, l'hard disk comincia a vibrare e a fare rumore, in più facendo un'analisi con un programmino che analizza lo stato di salute del disco, sono usciti fuori diversi errori. Così ho chiesto ed effettuato il reso immediatamente. Ovviamente Grazie al servizio clienti Amazon che è sempre a disposizione per qualsiasi problema. Spero che questa recensione possa essere utile, grazie per averla letta :)
