Really impressed with the whole kit.Came with tons of ferrules, the crimper and some wire strippers all for a great price.The crimper was comfortable to hold and easy to use, one of those things that makes your life a lot more annoying without the proper tool.The little tubs the ferrules come in are removable so you can pull out a chunk of what you need without leaving the whole case open. For someone like me who will always find a way to knock the whole thing on the ground this is much appreciated

Using ferrule terminals give you significantly better contact between your wire and the receiver like a set screw. When you just twist a wire, pop it into a set screw receiver, and tighten it down your wire is going to spread out and not make full contact. With a ferrule terminal there's a metal sleave covering your wire which makes total contact with your wire and when it's clamped down it makes better contact with the wire, not worse. Clamping the ferrule terminal around the wire you get full contact around the entire diameter of your wire, you've now got a 100% contact patch between your wire and the set screw.Great, so ferrules are great. Great! But what about this ferrule clamping kit? Well, in a word, it's great!The kit comes with a simple to use, self locking ferrule clamper, a basic wire stripper that will allow you to strip and clean any wires you've got ferrule terminals for, and a LOT of ferrule terminals over a broad range of gauges from 23 AWG (0.3mm) to 7 AWG(10mm). All of that in a snap locking carrying case so you've got all your ferrule stuff and it won't be spilling all about your tool box.I tested this kit cleaning up some old speaker wires and that's a great use case for embedded installs like you're running wires through a wall where you can't easily get to the cable later on so don't want to use banana clips. I'm about to use them to run 120VAC to an LED power supply to all my office LED strip lights and dimmer controls. This is going to make the job so much easier and significantly more reliable.

the tool is heavy and good quality. the case, surprisingly is also. definitely not one of the cases that you usually get. each set of connectors has its own cup that is removable from the case, though they will need reorganize to match the chart card included. the crimping tool sits in a sturdy foam insert and is a little difficult to get out. though i suspect that will get easier as it wears. the set comes with a good set of wire strippers/cutter that appear to have a screw trimmer, but i cannot see any threads so i would not utilize it for one as it will mess up the threads. i had some 16 gauge wire and it slipped into the correct ferrule easily and was not allowed to protrude out the end. crimping took little force and i had a secure connection. i decided to play and utilized several larger connectors. i was able to get a good connection all the way down to the 10 gauge, though i did have to rotate and crimp the ferrule a few differnt times. i did not notice until i received the kit that it included two different color 12 gauge ferrules. remember these are for stranded wire only. no need to use them with solid.

These little ferrules Make setting up audio equipment, a breeze. They are designed to keep the stranded wires of electronic devices like speakers and other sound equipment. no more struggling to insert stranded wires make every electronic connection easy like plug and play.

So I do a lot of car audio and boat wiring. Many of the connections are spring loaded or screw terminals and the issue is that bare wires splay out when you put them in one of these so you can only count on about 50% of the wires touching.These ferrules make the wires act like a solid core, making a better connection and using all the wires. Turns out this type of connection is required in Europe! I didn't know. But they can't get CE certification without it.With that as a backdrop I figured I'd give this a go. I like that it's a six sided crimp, cheaper ones are a 4 sided crimp. The crimper operates smoothly and it comes with a lot of various size ferrules. The wire stripper that comes with it is nice too, the spring loaded opening is a great feature for one-handed operation in tight quarters. I also like the lock that it has so you can lock it closed when it's in your tool bag.It's another thing that I didn't know how much I needed it until I got one!

Nothing to hate about this ferrule set. Comes with virtually any ferrule you would need for your daily applications and the ferrule crimper is nice and easy to use. Zero problems with this set and I would totally buy again if I needed to.
