Works!
We have an old settling house and sliding glass door and doggie door insert. Have not found a single thing to keep the wind out since the two do not match up. There's at least a half inch gap between the door and the doggie door at the bottom. We have tried everything to get this to match up and have found nothing that works. I just put this on this afternoon and not only immediately could tell the wind was no longer coming in but the amount of cold that is not just sitting right there! I bought two more strips to really weatherproof it but I don't even think I need that! The stuff's awesome! I did just install it just a few hours ago and have not touched it so do not know the longevity of the sticky tape, especially since I stuck it to the weatherproofing seal fuzz that is on the actual door. It's not on plastic metal or otherwise. It's on pipe cleaner type material. Currently it's sticking though!

Don’t do it
If I could give it 0 stars I would. The white paper wouldn’t come off of the adhesive, and when I tried harder to remove it it comes off of the product all together leaving no adhesive on the product. I requested a new one thinking I would give them the benefit of the doubt and of course the same exact issue with the 2nd one. This product is very poorly made do not recommend

Removing the strip during warm weather makes it easy!
This review is to share something I just discovered myself. I tried to remove the strip in the spring, and it was very difficult—it kept pulling off the paint. That’s why I only removed a few and decided not to deal with the rest.Yesterday, it was about 90 degrees outside, and for some reason, I decided to try again. This time, the strip came off perfectly—like a hot knife through butter! If you don’t want to wait for hot weather, try using a hairdryer to heat the glued area. It should work just as well.

Miraculous
I live in a 100+ year old home with very outdated windows and bad insulation, so it gets very hot in the summer and very cold in the winter. And, of course, my bedroom faces a busy street which is downwind from a biker bar, so I hear them all drive home at 2am on the weekends, which doesn't do my insomnia any favors. I've tried other types of window insulation but nothing ever worked, so i resorted to ducttaping my windows shut with a layer of bubble wrap inside. It helped, but looked awful and I could not open my windows for emergencies or nice days. I just installed this weather stripping and i want to cry (in a good way). I bought it so that my bedroom would stay cooler this summer, but the instant silence is why I immediately had to come write a review. I cannot emphasize how much of a relief it brings. I feel like I finally have some privacy and comfort. I can still hear the outside world, but it's so much quieter. I'll update in a couple months once we've had some more hot days and say whether or not it did it's job of sealing the window well. My only small complaint is that it doesn't come in white, but if it's gonna work this well then who cares!Note: Installation was simple, I cut it to size and heated the glue on the strips with a hair drier as recommended and it seems extremely sturdy.

not sure it's worth it
It was very difficult to get the protective strip off. I had to use an iron to loosen the adhesive in order to get it off, otherwise it would tear. If you don't heat it, it doesn't adhere well to the surface as well. We'll see how it helps with insulating.

Actually works
I’m hoping the glue stays because this product is amazing. I installed it at my sliding glass door which needs replacing and has quite a draft. I was looking for something to use for the winter until we can replace the door. This weatherstripping is so fantastic I may just keep the door. It was a little hard to peel off the backing, but as soon as it was done - wow. NO draft. I cut it in 24 inch sections to install so it would be straight. Today it is 19 degrees Fahrenheit and I think I installed this just in time!

Bad batch?
I’ve ordered these multiple times and they are usually great!!! They keep the cold air out, are easy to apply and stay where you put them. Unfortunately the last batch I ordered I could not for the life of me get the paper off the sticky part. So they are basically useless. I have tried cutting, scrapping folding, cooling, warming up. No matter what the paper will not come off.

GAP BETWEEN SIDE OF DOOR AND FRAME
I had a small gap between the side of the door and the frame when the door was closed shut, I could see sunlight coming through. I think this is mostly used for the bottom of the door or for windows, but I put a strip starting from the top of my door, on the inner strip of the door, down to the handle and the second strip from the handle down to the bottom and it worked perfectly. I had to cut out the part where the lock engaged but I left the sticky part on and just cut a notch out so the door could lock. NO MORE GAP noticed, no sunshine or draft or heat or bugs getting through now.
