Works very well to install door lock on thicker doors
This is exactly what I needed for my mortise lock with skeleton key set. The door was a bit thicker than the standard, so I purchased this longer spindle and it works just as expected! Pleased with this purchase, and easy installation.

I didn’t even know what this item was called. I just submitted a photo of the broken item on the amazing Amazon app, and had a new one at my doorstep (and in my doorknob) the very next day!!!

Finally found it
Checked locksmiths in this town for years. Couldn't find anything even with the old "shaft" in hand. Looking for a split doorknob SHAFT online. Didn't know that it was actually a split SPINDLE! Looks like a shaft to me.
