I like this viewer better for 2 reasons: 1. when you replace the batteries, there is an easy-open back compartment that does NOT have the light bulb attached (which the Pana-Vue did), and 2. I like the on-off switch at the top better than the need to press down on the slide or light bar for each slide. Otherwise, it is comparable in size and magnification. To note: this viewer came with 2 AAA batteries, but they are dated 2013, and even with a 10-year shelf life, they are expired. So I just put in new AAA batteries, you might want to watch out for the same. Small detail not worth worrying about, I mention it only so you don't put in expired batteries into your unit.
