Vesta Beef Curry - 3 x 215gm

Hard to find product so it's great to buy it on Amazon

Used to buy Vesta Curry in the 1960’s. Managed to find them in Pound Shops occasionally.Recently found them on Amazon, ordered three. Still a tasty meal, but doesn’t have the “kick” it used to.One thing I found, instructions for the sauce says mix with 450ml cold water, I found this to runny, 300ml much better. Must say still enjoy them

I gave this a 5 star review, partly because it delivered exactly the feeling I expected and partly because I couldn't bring myself to rate it low given that I was trying it for nostalgia's sake. That said it's important to give an honest review so I will!It is quite hard to believe that I used to eat this and enjoy it. I made this following all instructions and it came out ok, only a few of the "beef" pieces were like dry biscuit, but the sauce came out thick and gloomy and with an initially OK flavour followed by a weird aftertaste (I don't remember that!).I have a feeling they have modified the recipe, it's not got the same flavour I remember, but perhaps my taste buds have changed since way back then.Obviously nobody is buying this to replace a normal curry in 2020 [especially given the prep time], but if you wan't a journey back in time, this will absolutely deliver and also confirm that some kinds of progress are for the better!

Blimey...spot the "meat" competition...there were 9 small bits in amongst the sauce, nothing like the photo on the box or like it was back in the 80's beef wise.The sauce is still pretty authentic and it still has the bullet peas...so not all nostalgia lost.I bought a pack of 3 so will still make the other 2 and hope there is more beef next time

As expected ,although packaging damaged

This crap bears no resembance to food whatever! Managed half a spoonfull and poisoned the waste bin. Texture of gravy, taste of chemicals. Shouldnt be on the market! Pure waste of money! Ended up going out buying takeaway kebab. Yum.... not!!!

I used to love the Beef Curry version, especially the curry sauce and have looked in my supermarket for sometime to buy another packet as its been a long time since i last had one. Without success i found them on amazon so bought 4 of them and have tried them once again.....however i found that the manufacturers have changed the recipe of the sauce and it is not as good as the original sauce was, in my opinion. So much so that when i've finished the 3 other packets i won't be re-ordering...such a pity as i said i 'loved' them before but not so much now....Please manufacturer please return to the original recipe.
