This is a great product! It’s a medium dense hardness, very soft to the feel rubber type product that’s super flexible and stretchy if needed. I would compare it to the rubber seals on a car door. Soft, flexible, long lasting. I purchased 1/2” and found that it was a little large for my application. I found that it easily cuts in half with a razor knife without rolling around etc. super stuff and highly recommended!

I used this as backer rod for caulking a granite backsplash on a very wavy wall. Worked great and saved a ton of caulk. Excellent!

I have a house that moves around a lot with the seasons, and that results in a lot of cracks in various places. Though backer rod is used a lot for concrete cracks, I used this 1/4 inch rod to fill a gap between the wood trim on a pony wall and the sheetrock wall of my house. Over the years the gap had gotten so wide that caulk alone was not able to fill the gap. But that's exactly what this is for.This backer rod is firm, but flexible. It's a type of firm foam rubber, and it pressed into the gap and held it's place without issue. See pics for the crack and the crack with the backer rod in place. The caulk had no problem staying in place with the backer rod behind it. I can't say that I have a lot of experience with other backer rod products, but I can say that my experience with this one was excellent.

This product filled in the gap between my house and our driveway perfectly. It's a larger diameter so you really have to poke it down in there but because of that, it gets a really great seal and prevents water from getting into the gap. It's very sturdy material and is a quality product. If you have gaps between your structure and your surface that are allowing water to get in, this will definitely solve the problem!

Unlike other backer rod I have used before, this is a heavy duty rubberized foam product and not a light, easily torn foam. I thought this would be much less firm and squishy like most other foam backer rod and weather stripping. I was nicely surprised to find this product to be superior to others. It is a foam rubber but nicely dense and it seems it should last a long time. I should have gone with a smaller diameter now that I know how dense it is. I thought it would need to be squished a lot to fit tightly into gaps but that is not the case. I can cut it in half for smaller gaps, but I might need to get some half inch and quarter inch for all my projects. Definitely would recommend this product!

So, this expandable rubber smells like a brand new tyre. A bit offputting when you open the packet. However it is excellent at the job it was designed for. I have an 1950's property where none of the transverse fllor joints are level. So, having put in nice new skirting boards, two of the walls have a 4mm gap in the centre of the room, tjat tapers down to flush at the corners. This product can be pushed into the gap. It will flatten to 2mm easily, so I used some spudgers (plastic tools to get into cracks and open up laptop cases and mobile phone cases) to push the flexible rod into the gaps.The result - the noticable draft coming from the gap has disappeared and I'll follow up with some calk and a scotia next weekend to make it sound and eliminate the gap. The length was enough to do one wall in my room. Just make sure you stretch the product as you squeeze it into the gap.Good value. I'd use this again for gap-related issues!

Ich nehme zum Abdichten gerne Silikon und habe bisher alles Mögliche als Füllmaterial genommen, wenn ein Spalt zu groß war und die Dichtmasse in der Öffnung verschwand. Der Vorteil dieser Schaumstoffstreifen hier ist, dass diese einfach zu bearbeiten sind und einfach angepasst werden können. Leider gibt es dieses Material lediglich in schwarz. Weiß oder transparent wäre zielführender, wenn es um eine der üblicherweise weißen Duschtassen geht. Bei denen hatte ich bisher immer die größten Probleme mit zu großen Abständen. Dazu würde auch die Angabe der möglichen Temperaturschwankungen (-40 °C bis 120 °C) passen.Inwieweit es eine zuverlässige Schalldämmung oder gar Wärmedämmung bieten soll, ist bei dem Durchmesser die Frage. Für Gehwege würde ich es auch eher weniger einsetzen, da es sich um Schaumstoff handelt. Hier würden sich kleine Steinchen zu schnell eindrücken. I had some very similar stuff to this for inbetween floorboards (think it was called DraughtEx). This is the same kind of rubbery construction. You can use a pair of scissors to carefully reduce the size/width of the piece you're using if necessary - 13mm is very thick to be working with.You'll often see it referred to as 'caulk saver' on DIY forums, I think it's more common the other side of the pond.

Nun kann man versuchen, irgendwas in den Ritz zu stopfen - oder man nimmt diesen Fugenfüller und gleicht dann nur noch die Fläche mit einem beliebigen Füllmaterial nach Wunsch an.Eins der Produkte, das man eigentlich immer im Keller liegen haben sollte...

Das Produkt ist stabil und extrem flexibel.Man sieht es schon in der Verpackung 180 Grad Kurven sind kein Problem. Das einzige das man beachten sollte ist das es nicht von selbst in der Position bleibt. Deshalb ist es in der Verpackung auch mit einem Gummi befestigt.Ansonsten Vollgummi aber stabil! Also wenn es in die Lück passt danach mit etwas verschließen fertig.Den Stern Abzug da es optimal wäre wenn es nicht so leicht in seine Form zurück will sondern eher bleibt wie gebogen. Das ist aber schwierig daher nur 1 Stern weniger und wenn es mal irgendwo fest eingeklemmt ist sollte es bleiben.
