Excellent product
Saved my recently adopted shelter dog from serious health issues. Already small and fragile, he was suffering from severe diarrhea and these electrolytes stabilized him and ensured that he had minimal strength while slowly recovering from his condition. For those folks who can't get their pets to drink this, it needs to be fed via syringe, but be very, very careful with this, do it slowly into the side of your pets mouth, and wait for them to swallow before administering more. If it gets into the lungs, it can kill your pet. Probably best for your vet to show you how to do it.

Keep on hand
Why did you pick this product vs others?:I froze half of it right when I get because when u open it only last 7 days so freeze the other half and u will have enough to last when u need again.

Did they changed the formula?
I have purchased this product a few times, and my cats used to drink it without problem, they even liked it. But this last time they rejected it; it has a horrible smell (that previous products didn't have) and by their reaction it also tastes bad. Did I get a spoiled product? Or formulation changed?

Directions are extremely vague, but product did help some
I think it's a quality product but they advise giving the same dosage to dogs and cats and this is something you give orally, NOT mixed with water either. I called the number on the bottle for clarification to dosage for cats because you can't give cats that much liquid orally at one time, not to mention 3 to 4 times a day. The lady answered right away which was awesome, but told me it's a concentrate youmix with water. I told her, NOWHERE on the directions does it say to mix with water, and even if it did, you that would mean giving even more fluid at one time to the cat. ( It says it's safe for puppies and kittens and even these directions on the bottle would REALLY be innapropriate for small kittens and puppies) she said, yes it does, I said, NO, it doesn't. I told her "VET CLASSICS, PET-LYTE," again and she said "oh I was giving you the directions for...." A different brand. She still didn't understand or have the answer to proper dosage. I mean can you imagine giving a cat or kitten 3 to 4 oz of electrolytes or water 3 to four times a day. That's a half a cup up the Pet-a lyte in a cat or kittens stomach, a HALF A CUP 3 or 4 times a day!!!!! That's outrageous you would drown them, but I would also think the idea would be the electrolytes and then as they get energized they feel like drinking water and eating normally, giving small amounts of the electrolytes as needed by their response to them.Anyway, I did the math in my head based on my personal knowledge of cats and dogs and electrolytes, and the nutritional content per one cup as listed on the label, and used common sense as well as this king- as long as she gets some it's better than none. FOR A FULL GROWN CAT I had a 3 ml dropper gave her 2 or 3 droppers, then after 45 mins a dropper of water. Sometimes would give 2 droppers plus 1 dropper of water. As needed. She perked up and was more stable walking with a better appetite. ASK YOUR VET FIRST IF YOUVE NEVER DEALT WITH THIS KIND OF THING BEFORE. If you can't and they're getting dehydrated I'd go by the same thing I did, common sense, if they don't want to drink it at first and using a dropper for cat or dog small amounts alternated with small amounts of water. Sometimes whether it's a dropper of water orelectrolytes, ones you give them the first dropper/sips with the dropper then you can pull the bowl in front of them and they'll do it on their own. I'm not a doctor, that's just my experience.

Confused but maybe progress with my method
I was concerned and also confused when I read the directions. I have an outside stray that is really dehydrated and won't drink. Been stringing him watery wet food with lots of water mixed in. As u know this is very dangerous because they can choke so easy. It says 3-4 Oz several times a day. Is that for real? I foster dogs and cats and that's insane. Plus there isn't getting that much liquid in a cat. I would be here all day or I would either choke my cat. I did read the lady's comment above. I agree. Tha k fod she's good at math. The watered down food is easier to syringe him because it's thicker and he can control it better In his mouth. I received this stuff last night. He usually eats about 40-50 ml of food 3 or 4 times a day. So I added equal part water, this stuff, and rebound. Rebound is the name of a thick liquid that has all the nutrients ur pet needs from the water plus other healthy vitamins. Anyway. I thought we were going to lose this little guy the other day. Major constipation which I gave an emema type thing and helped him with the plug. Gave a laxative gel I bought the day before. It worked great and now his poops are nice and soft but formed and he's not pushing do hard. Hes so weak an tired from that that he lays a lot and has just been peeing and pooping laying down. No Interest or every to move to his pad to do his business. Decides to buy this stuff. What could I lose. Don't mention that I should take him to a vet because I did, 3 times. He has FIV and got blisters in his mouth and I received the norm or antibodies. I asked for the dub fluids because he had quit drinking. He got better and was eating on his own then on day he started stumbling and not eating or drinking. I called the vet and asked for ear drops because his head was tilted and he was unbalanced. He started getting better but never ate or drank by himself so I have been syringe feeding wet food watered down. I asked for a refill and they told me no and I needed to bring him in. That's the way they do it even if it's a med they have prescribed already. I spent over 1400 in 5 weeks and told them I couldn't afford it right now and they still wouldn't. So I'm stuck fighting for this baby and figuring out how to rehydrate him. So I fed him several times with my mixture yesterday and up till about an hour ago. Remind you he was not sta ding up and moving to the pad to do his business and just ,getting it go right there. He has to be fed and watered by syringe, but he does allow me to. He stayed in my roommates bedroom because she has like a little apt set up with an outside door. We have the other babies ans he's FIV so we have to protect them as well as him. I have a noonie cam i1n her room watching him and I wat he'd him walk from the dig bed to his little cage! He stumbled like crazy but he a tally was able, and wanted to, stand up and walk 5 feet to another location. I don't know if it has anything to do with his stuff or not but I wanted t leave a comment about that. It's a big deal. I'll get on in a couple days and update. So tne amount I'm giving him is approx 2 or 3 mls blended in a half can of wet food along with the water and rebound about every 4 hours. I'll take a ml to him about every hour or 2. So he probably consumed 30 MLS of the rehydration fluid in 16 hours which is about an Oz it believe. I'm just glad he's feeling better.

Help save pups from parvo.
One of the items I used on a handful of pups that caught parvo, out of subq fluids….this was used as a last stitch effort to save them including a couple other products, two out of five services and I 100% believe it was possible with the help from this product and a couple others! Bugzy and his sister thank you! First photo the day he started to turn around. Second photo two weeks later, the third is most recent! Don’t bully the breed!
