Installing the SJOY-W019 stereo in my 2000 Mazda Miata was one of the most satisfying upgrades I’ve done. From the moment I unboxed it, everything about this unit felt intuitive and well-designed. 🔧 Installation Was a Breeze The unit fit perfectly into the dash with minimal fuss. You have to order the correct harness for your car equipment. Wiring was straightforward, and the included harnesses were clearly labeled. For anyone comfortable with basic car audio installs, this is a plug-and-play dream. 🔊 Bose Amplifier Workaround If your Miata is equipped with the factory Bose system, be prepared for a small detour. The SJOY-W019 doesn’t natively support the Bose amp, so I had to bypass it using a use harness from a bose amplifier in ebay It’s a manageable fix, but worth noting for those expecting full compatibility out of the box. 🎨 Looks That Elevate the Cabin The sleek, modern design of the SJOY-W019 instantly refreshed the interior. The touchscreen is crisp and responsive, and the interface feels premium without being flashy. It complements the Miata’s classic aesthetic beautifully. 🧭 User-Friendly Interface Navigation through menus is smooth, and the layout is intuitive. Whether you’re adjusting audio settings or switching between apps, everything is just a tap away. It would be nice if the icons could be arranged based on your commonly used. Car Play and Android Auto work great. Bluetooth pairing was instant, and the unit remembers devices reliably. 📸 Camera Integration Is Spot-On Both front and rear cameras synced flawlessly. The image quality is sharp, and the switching logic (reverse trigger, manual toggle) works exactly as expected. It’s a huge boost in safety and convenience, especially in a low-slung roadster like the Miata. It would be nice to add a front parking camera, because the Miata is so low. If you're restoring or upgrading a classic car and want a stereo that blends modern tech with timeless style, the SJOY-W019 is a fantastic choice. Just be ready to tackle the Bose amp workaround if needed—and once you do, it’s smooth sailing from there.

I'll preface this review by saying that I have been a car audio hobbyist for over 40 years and have experience installing everything from simple replacement radios to high end, multi-amplifier, separate-component car audio systems. This is not my first installation, and I come to this subject with knowledge, standards, and some expectations. With that in mind, I can honestly say that I am impressed with the SJoyBring JOY-W019. It is *a lot* better than it needs to be at its price point. I put this unit in our 2002 Honda Accord (250k+ miles), which is rough-looking but stupidly reliable, despite being on hospice-level care for the last 5 years. Until now this car lacked modern A/V and navigation features, but the W019 fills that need, and it's a huge improvement! I just got back from completing a 500 mile road trip with the new head unit in the car, and I can share some thoughts on it. What I like: All of the features in the W019 (and bundled cameras!) seem to work as described!! The built-in feature set works: the built-in radio reception is very good, the software support for the cameras is fair/ok (and works ok once you get the hang of it), and most importantly, the CarPlay functionality is outstanding. The built-in mic works well enough for phone conversations, and I have not had any issues connecting my iPhone 12 Mini via wireless Apple CarPlay; imho the CarPlay system works *extremely* well, and since this was my main reason for purchase, I am quite happy about that! Now that my phone is paired to the W019 CarPlay appears automatically as soon as the console boots, which is within about 20 seconds of starting the vehicle. The JOY-W019 screen has very good resolution, and the touch screen seems to work as expected - no issues at all so far. The bundle I purchased included a dash cam and backup camera, and although the dash cam controls are a bit funky to use, the dash cam seems to work well (no issues retaining settings, it turns on automatically as expected, it has various parameters you can control via software and it remembers those settings, etc.). The backup camera feature also works well, though admittedly I am using a license plate frame-style backup camera made by another company. That works great with the W019 and hasn’t caused any issues, fwiw. What I like most: The wireless Apple CarPlay works seamlessly, and this 21yo vehicle now has reliable navigation, Spotify support, a built in EQ, and a subwoofer line out w/a several options for the crossover point. I am *very* pleased with this unit and these features! What I don’t like: I have not had any issues with their software, but SJoyBring could be more forthcoming about identifying the current version of the W019’s software on their website! The software in the W019 can be updated, if necessary, but SJoyBring doesn’t have any firmware info on their website, and you have to pry the info from them via email. It would be very helpful if they identified the current software version on their website and made updates to the current software version publicly available. Instead, you need to write to SJoyBring tech support and provide complete proof of purchase before they will provide *any* firmware info, and this makes for some tedious back-and-forth email exchanges. Other than that minor gripe, I really don’t have any other criticisms to offer. This unit far exceeds my expectations for a <$200 wireless Apple CarPlay compatible head unit with 4x 60W(-ish) output, various line outputs, and included front/rear cameras. TL;DR: I bought one of these and have used it for >500 miles. It seems to work well so far and I am very happy with my purchase.

Overall: 4 stars 1998 Mitsubishi Lancer (CP9A) Why is it for DIYers? This is a great entry level head unit. As you've read from other reviews there are some troubleshooting that you'll need to fix from time to time and if you are somebody who just wants to pay somebody to install this and do not like, want or cannot figure things out please look somewhere else. If you are a DYIer like myself this is not an issue. Pro's: - Feature to price. This thing has a lot features that you'll only see above the $500 range from other name brand companies. - Installation is straight forward. I do not understand on what other reviewers are saying that they had to make their own diagram to connect the unit? Just like any other head units it's a lot easier to purchase a harness and mounting frame that matches the make and model of your vehicle just like any other aftermarket head unit. Also, there is a diagram on the instructions and you can youtube or google anything nowadays. Furthermore, yes you do need tools to install or fix things. - Manual Control Knob. Touch screen is ok, but manual controls are still my preferences. - Carplay and Android Auto works great with no issues. Con's: - This thing is picky with which USB it wants to work with. I've reached out to support because some MP4/WMV files will play and some will not. I received a response that if the file is too big it won't play. The issue that I get is some movies as big as 5 GB's will play with no issues and some videos with 20 MB's will have the file not supported issue or I would get the spinning loading screen... - This is random and my biggest complaint as this is the reason for the purchase to have a dedicated music/video/movie player without requiring a phone or internet. *** Update *** I was able to reduce the issue by using a smaller 32 GB USB/SD card, I think 256 GB of music/videos/ movies takes too long for the unit read. - Dedicated DSP. I have aftermarket 4 channel speakers and I've read a lot of reviews that this thing is loud, but I do not have this. Rather, it doesn't' have the same bass punch as the 12 years old Carrozzeria unit that I replaced it with. I'm glad I have a dedicated powered subwoofer to push the bass in my car, I may install an amp to push the other speakers in the future. I would like to have: - Two features cannot work the same time. For example, you cannot play music from USB/SD card while you are using maps from Car Play/Android Auto. - There is no website support to update the unit and/or change boot logo without emailing the support team. I would rather have the option of downloading the update file and have the option of changing the boot log/ wallpaper without waiting up to 24 hours. - UI response is not instantaneous or snappy. But, has a slight delay. Does not bother me, but something to point out. - The website states the dashcam supports up to 32GB of sd card, but nothing states max capacity for the actual head unit. I reached out to support and their response is 64GB. I have yet to confirm this and will update once I do. - I would like for the dash cam and back up camera to be at least 1440P. But, not a deal breaker.

Fantastic stereo. Works great in my son's 2004 4Runner. Includes plenty of diagrams, instructions, and links to Youtube tutorials that made it so easy, we installed it ourselves. Emailed the manufacturer over a couple days for the latest software update and a custom background/boot screen and they responded in minutes every time with clear instructions on how to do everything. Great experience! Definitely recommend this if you're wanting to upgrade to a touchscreen without spending tons of money.

8 month review. I had no idea this off brand stereo could be so good. Everything works perfectly. The screen is much colorful and clearer than ones in friends newer cars. I am very impressed. I always purchased high end stereos in the past. I don’t know what a $ 1000 unit cost do that this one doesn’t. Connects immediately.

Pretty good has a couple of flaws. I have an iPhone. The CarPlay is pretty straightforward. Sometimes the phone doesn’t connect and I have to turn the car off and on again. I have a Nissan NV 200. The head unit fit perfect. I wasn’t able to get the backup camera to work. I actually hooked it up to the port that’s supposed to be for the dash camera and now when I want to turn the backup camera on, I need to select the front facing camera not a big deal. It’s a little pricey for how functional it is. But if you can handle it having a couple flaws, it’s not a bad unit. Another issue I had is if I’m playing music and I make a phone call the music cuts out after the phone call and I have to close out whatever streaming app I was using and restart it. All in all it’s pretty good works for what I need to do.

This radio is awesome! I unfortunately had my 2006 Chevy Trailblazer totaled by a distracted driver in early February of this year, and while I was looking for a replacement vehicle, I was driving a Hyundai Kona with Android Auto in the car - it was so cool. I ended up getting a 2005 GMC Envoy, and started looking for a double din head unit that supported Android Auto. My research led me to SJoyBring. I used a CRUX interface module to retain the steering wheel controls with the new head unit. Everything went smoothly except programming those steering wheel buttons. I could not get volume down to function no matter how many times I tried to program it. SJoyBring has probably the BEST customer service for any product I've ever bought. I messaged them on Facebook with the issue, and within 10 minutes someone responded with detailed instructions to fix the problem and gave me the Factory Setting password to get into the radios factory settings to make the changes I needed to make to successfully program the steering wheel buttons. They also will create boot up screens and wallpapers of any image you want and they send you the update file directly to your email - in my case within 10 minutes! I was able to add a GMC Envoy logo as my bootup screen that makes the unit look factory - super super cool! The camera also came with a backup and dash cam. Thus far, I have only installed the back up camera, which works awesome as well! The early returns are this is an incredible product with amazing customer service for just $160! If you are interested in a radio with CarPlay of Android Auto, there's no need to spend $400 on a "namebrand" unit.

So far, there are no major issues with this radio. This was installed into a 2000 pick up truck. The dash bezel had to be modified and a trim ring had to be added to the dash basil to clean up the look. These parts were available from others. Sometimes it is a little glitchy. When the forward facing camera comes on when first starting the vehicle it will stay on. The camera will display on the radio screen and the radio will not play. This only seemed to happen when it was very cold outside. You will have to turn off the vehicle so that the radio will turn off to reset it. Then it would work like the radio should. The back up camera is clear on the screen and works very well. I have a manual transmission so I tapped into the back up lights to power the back up camera. The truck is also an extra cab and the cord from the camera to the radio was long enough to reach. Once the camera was mounted the lines that showed up on the screen like most cars could then be adjusted according to where it was mounted. These adjustments would allow you to back up to something very close and then set the angles in the distances of the lines on the screen to give you a much better indication of how close you were to something. The only thing that I might have changed would be to put a license plate mounted camera rather than this style camera as I did not have a good place to mount it so I just screwed it to the middle of my license plate. This has not caused any problems other than aesthetics. The nice thing about putting it in the middle of my license plate is when I’m backing into my trailer to hook up. I can watch it in the back up camera. For the money this was a decent purchase. I would definitely buy another one if I had to. In case you haven’t looked, the average cost for a shall we say high end radio with a back up camera and a forward facing camera combination kit would cost for my vehicle roughly $500.00 to $800.00. Due to the fact that my biggest goal is to be able to connect my phone into my radio, so I could play my music and be able to use the map feature on my phone this was a good choice. The only thing I would’ve added would have been to add the external mic. When you’re driving down the road in a higher speed and this vehicle is not the quietest to drive the external mic would’ve helped when talking on the phone. It seams to do fine when at low speeds but it picks up the background noise at higher speeds.
