what is the inner diameter of this faucet? Is the ID larger than a typical filtered water faucet, which is 1/4"?

Not sure on diameter question. This faucet is almost " plug and play' in the fact that I removed the bad faucet and this unit just dropped in perfectly in the single hole.. All connections were standard - i.e. no special adapters etc. needed. Good luck!

Is a 2" thick deck too much for mounting this faucet? If so, is there some sort of extender I can use?

yes, 2'' thick deck can not fit. we have longer fitting to solve this matter. you need to buy this fitting(extenderd) from us seperatly. please contact us.

My faucet leaks at the connection to the faucet inside the 1.1” ID mounting tube. What tool is there that can fit inside and reach up to tighten it?

Out of luck! That connection is not repairable. Write to the company, they might replace the unit, but I already replaced mine with a reliable alternative before they offered to help.
