Van HeusenMen's Flex Flat Front Straight Fit Pant

My go-to pants for the last 5 years have been Levi Dockers Men's Classic Fit Signature Khaki Lux Cotton Stretch Pants. I have about 15 pair and I cycle through them four times before I dry clean them - once every three months. Then I noticed that Amazon is selling Van Heusen pants for 25% lower price, $36 vs $50 for the Dockers, in a large variety of sizes including my size which is 40W x 34L. The Van Heusen pants are Poly/Rayon/Spandex vs. Cotton for the Dockers so I wasn't sure how they would feel compared to the Dockers but, I thought I would give them a try. A few days later the pants arrived and the first thing I noticed is that to my surprise they came out of the plastic bag without a wrinkle. I also noticed that the interior of the pants are nicely finished with a red lining covering all the seams on the inside of the pants which you see typically in more expensive dress pants. Trying them on they fit perfectly around the waist and had some stretch to them. The button and clasp closure at the waist is nicely done and the pants have some extra belt loops compared to the Dockers. The material felt very light and comfortable compared to the stiffer heavier Dockers. The only downside thing I noticed is that for me they run a little long. So I returned them for one size shorter 40W x 32L which fit perfectly. So all in all these pants are not only a great value, but fit perfectly, are wrinkle resistant, and feel light and comfortable all day in the office. Time to retire the Dockers and replace them with Van Heusen.

Firstly, pants are fairly expensive at their regular price now a days. This goes for really any level of quality. If you go in mid-range department store, expect a ~70$ tag. Sounds like a high price, however the pants aren't necessarily made to the best standards even at that. In comes the Van Heusen.Van Heusen is on the low-to-middle range as quality stands. The regular price of these pants are lower than average (to reflect the latter) however I feel is still a bit too high for what you receive -- which is a poly blend (65% polyester and 35% rayon). They are kind of scratchy feeling, not very soft, and not very breathable. With this being said, they are good looking and wearable for many body types.[---Fit---]They fit slightly large around the waist, so if possible, size down only 1 around the waist. If you have bigger legs, then order your normal size. The fit of these are classic and are average around the thighs. They are slimmer than a typical regular fit so I would say a 'slim' classic.However, there is a problem with the crotch length. Honestly, I don't know the reason for the trend of short crotches, however these ride high and can only be worn when they are sitting around your hips (not under your belly button). Even sitting on my hips, they are still a bit tight for the 'personals'. Take this into account.These are labeled as stretch, however they don't stretch 'much'. They do, just don't expect the same stretch as say, your ubiquitous stretch jeans.[---Look---]More business casual than dressy. It is a mix of dark blue and dark-light blue (sort of a dark seersucker) and is matte finished. Great with black shoes or dark brown.-----------------------A decent pair of mid-range quality business casual pants that fits those with a few extra pounds down to the slender folks. A bit expensive at regular price for what you get, however a comfortable pair of pants when gotten on sale.

I purchased these pants after seeing another person's review saying that with their movement in inspecting airplanes they wore comfortably and did not disturb any precious merchandise 'down there.' I ordered my regular size and bought two pairs.The first pair sat well at the waist, length was good, not too tight around the thighs, didn't slip down with regular movement, but I was disappointed that the amount of room in the basement didn't meet my expectations. The second pair fit about the same, except that they did not exhibit as much lack of breathing room as the first pair did. The seat seam is stitched well with excess material provided to avoid wear, but the inseam to the leg where it meets the seat is single-stitched and starting to separate there, even in the more forgiving pair of pants. I would not expect these to last too much longer before the seam starts to fail. While this may sound like an underhanded way of bragging, I am of 'average stature,' so if you end up buying these pants you may also experience some 'tight quarters.' I would not wear these for any extended period of activity if I were to order them again, but they would pair well enough for business attire.

I buy these for work, quality is the best. They fit and look great! The sizing is right on, so purchase the size you normally wear! Purchased my first pair a year ago, wear them every day and they still look brand new! I highly recomend these pants!

I like these pants so much I cannot go back to the pants I was wearing previously. They are just very comfortable and a nice design. Thinking of buying a second pair.
