Very small for an XL
It's an XL with a German Shepherd in the pic and in no way fit my lab. It's also cheaply made with stitching coming away. Not great!

Recova Shirt
Bought this for my dog to wear after she had an operation. It was a little tight around the neck area, she didn't really like wearing it but my friend bought one for her dog and had no problems at all, the overall concept of it is good i think, it's just unfortunate my dog didn't like it.

works a treat for the most wriggly of cats!
this post op onsie is brilliant. we have a really wriggly kitten (straight out of her post op cone - amaqingly swift. easy to put on, cut the garment at the tail to allow for the kitten/small animal to toilet. the fabric doesn't fray. we got two vests, and changed daily - as cat like to keep themselves clean.

Great for post surgery wounds.
Brilliant for post op wounds. Our dog was comfortable and happy to wear it. No it’s not stylish, but it’s not meant to be. Best thing we ever bought without a doubt.

Good product
Good coverage, a little fiddly to feed a fluffy, long-haired dog’s tail through. As they are best not tumbledried, you really need 3 for cleaning turnover, so it gets expensive...

Absolute crap if you have a male
Xxxl is the only size that fit my Irish wolf hound…. 2 of them have only lasted 12 hrs each- for one tore across the crotch afte stretching out of shape. Second he chewed through within 20mins. Fan doc is thin and stretched out of shape quickly, also the tie design needs better velcro or velcro you can sticky a hound abdomen is slimmer than and st bernards after all. The fabric that covers the crotch may suit a female dog but the swelling on my male meant the fabric was constantly slipping to one size offering no protection to the wound that it was bought to cover. Do not recommend. Hems are weak on the sides and offer no structure to help combat the stretch in the fabric (no elasticity so once it’s stretched it’s done for)

Quality!
It has a nice snug fit but does not squish the dog. I cut the neck open as I have a furry dog and his fur needed to pop out. The fabric never tore or frayed even if after washing. Great product

Comfortable and effective
I first used a recova shirt when my vet offered it for my lab after her spay, instead of a collar. It worked great, even if she did look a lot like a blueberry jelly bean. I kept it and have used it for other dogs as well, and I've bought a couple more to have different sizes. I foster dogs and I typically get them right after their surgeries, so the shirts have gotten a lot of use and held up well. I tried to go to another brand that was more finished on the openings and a thicker material and ended up returning it for a few reasons. The other brand uses snaps vs velcro and the velcro is so much easier (plus, the dog I tried it on could undo the snaps) . Also, the finished openings meant less give and flexibility in sizing, so it was less comfortable and usable. Last, the thicker material may be more durable, but it also meant less give and flexibility in sizing. I machine wash and hang dry and only the very first one I bought (3 years and a ton of use later) has developed some holes in it. Even with the holes it is still does the job. It is nice to have two so that you can wash one while they are wearing the other.

Product not as advertised, immediate return.
I ordered this product on sale hoping to use it for my dog and wasn't sure it if would fit (XL for a Doberman). After receiving the product it was nothing like the photo on amazon. The material is very thin, the arm holes appear to be cut out with a pair of scissors and have no stitching and would rip very easily. In addition, it would not come close to fitting. I paid less than $10 for this and even for that price I had to return it, I strongly recommend avoiding this product and find a higher quality item!

I thought it was a little more durable than that though in looking back the name is Recova SHIRT so that's my bad I guess
This wasn't exactly what I thought it was going to be but that's mostly my fault I guess. It's a T-Shirt type material which I didn't know. I thought it was a little more durable than that though in looking back the name is Recova SHIRT so that's my bad I guess. It DID stop my dog from biting her hind end over the past 12 hours but she seems really uncomfortable in it and she just stands or sits awkwardly around the house until we remove it. She's had it on less than 12 hours and it's already ripping where her arms go through so can't say this is a great quality product. If it were cheaper (say $15-20) It would make more sense. For $40+ i was expecting a little better quality than this. I got this product as an alternative to the Cone of Shame and while I feel it's more practical it comes with its own set of issues. My dog seems constrained by it and doesnt seem to really like wearing it. She was even afraid to attempt to go down stairs while wearing it. Also... you have to remember to remove the straps in the back when the dog needs to pee otherwise the dog will pee on it. Its not a BAD product but for $40+ i was expecting more.
