Final Audio Design fi-so6bd3 – Headphones

I purchased these Final Audio Design SONOROUS VI headphones after reading some great reviews and a trusted audiophile stating he ditched his LCD-2 in favour of these I had to try them out!Sound qualityThe overall sound of the SONOROUS VI headphones is extremely detailed, smooth and very enjoyable.Highs- The treble is extended and the amount of detail is astonishing, they are by far the best headphones for bringing out details on any set of headphone I've tried (Audioquest nighthawk/Phillips Fidelio X2's/Hifiman HE-4XX etc) Everything comes through so well. I was completely blown away listening to "Diablo Rojo" by Rodrigo y Gabriella and "Little Wing" by Stevie Ray Vaughn. Gaming on these Headphones was incredible, I have over 300h on Escape from Tarkov and I have never noticed so many micro details before.Mids - The mids are dreamy and flawless. Vocals are crystal clear and you can hear the subtle breaths of the artist. Listening to Sue Foley - The Ice Queen made the hairs on the back of my neck stand up.Lows- Once again the lows impress, they extent real deep, have a tonne of detail and are tight and controlled too. The bass line on Jamie Callum's - "Music is through" was mesmerising! The sound of impulse grenades exploding on Starwars Battlefront is just monstrous and brought a huge smile to my face.Soundstage - Soundstage and imaging on these headphones are just phenomenal, especially considering they are a closed back headphone.Build qualityThe Build quality of this headphone is second to none. They look absolutely stunning! No cheap materials used here it's all stainless steel, quality leather, super soft memory foam and rock solid ABS plastic. They're premium quality down to every detail such as the stainless steel toggle where the cable splits. They feel like they could survive being run over with a tank.ComfortThis is where the SONOROUS VI headphones lose a star, even though the memory foam ear cups are very soft, I found the headphones to be extremely uncomfortable after prolonged use which made gaming/movies or extended music listening impossible for me. I tried taking them off to give my ears a break whenever possible but it got to the point where they became so painful to wear and I would have to switch headphones. It is such a shame because they are easily the best sounding headphones I've tried. However, I still recommend you still give these a try if you're considering the purchase. None of the other reviews I read suggests they're anything but comfortable. So they just might not suit my head.Overall these are absolutely amazing headphones, especially considering they're only £500. They hold their own against the big boys that are into the £1000's. Diminishing returns is massive after these.
