The cable does what it is supposed to do, however here are the reason for my negative review:1. the ridiculous price point is really a big let-down, given that this is a proprietary cable and no other options are available on the market. Ultimately it reflects badly on the brand image.2. My interface is the iConnect Audio4+. This unit now only ships with a Lightning connector, there is no option to bundle it with the 30-pin cable instead. This leaves someone like me who only has older iDevices with a useless Lighting cable and still $40 to spend to buy the correct one.I did email support asking if a "cable exchange" was possible given I had no choice to select the correct cable at time of purchase, and the response was unfortunately negative. This, again, does not help brand image.3. 5-feet may seem like a satisfactory length but when you are buying a $40 cable designed for live music applications, that length should really be over 8ft. I tour a lot and often have to adapt to different spacial situations. A longer cable would mean more flexibility and the ability to keep the interface further away from the other gear.

Useful, but a little spendy for what it is. If you need the interface (in my case a iConnectAudio4) and a 30-pin adapter, this is what you buy.

I was hoping to be able to use this cable to connect my older iPad to the integrated amplifier in my home stereo, but the sound continues to only come out of the iPad's built in speakers. Am I missing something? Is this cable supposed to do what I want?

Good product. The price is too high for what it is... In my opinion this should ship with the iConnectMidi product.
