This skin and hair oil is made from natural essential oils that has a faint odor and absorbs quickly into the skin. I’d never heard of Colocynth (Citrullus colocynthis) but it’s a plant that grows in East Asia. Its fruit looks like a small watermelon and contains chemicals that are unsafe when eaten indiscriminately. Since this is used externally, it appears to be safe for frequent use. I would keep it from the reach of children, though.Although it’s a natural essential oil, it wouldn’t be a good one to use for scent in the home. The scent was gone within minutes of use, if not seconds after applying. The skin didn’t feel greasy at all—the oil absorbed that quickly. Because it wasn’t greasy, the wife used a few drops on her hair. She really liked that her hair didn’t feel like she had anything on it and it left a lot of shine.We liked it for the absorption and how it felt like it was nourishing our dry skin without making it greasy. As we weren’t familiar with the colocynth plant, we really weren’t sure what the most effective way is to use this oil. The label is really hard to read with its tiny font and it didn’t include anything about the uses. Is it for wet hair? Or just for dry? Is it safe to apply sunscreen after using this on the skin? We had a lot of questions on its uses and that lack of information is the only complaint we had.
