Very controllable and sharp
The handle is comfortable and allows great control of the carve, the handle of a carving knife is just as important as the blade in my opinion. The blade itself is bevel ground with a very shallow angle, so it's sharp as heck out of the box and easy to sharpen because the single angle of the bevel allows easy hand honing. The tip is very fine and as some have pointed out can bend if the knife is dropped, so don't drop it. In normal carving I haven't found the blade bends.

Excellent knife
I have a large collection of carving tools, but I must admit this knife is, by far, one of the best. Great fit to the hand, and very sharp from the get go. I didn't even need to strop it first. Excellent.

The tip bends!
I'm super disappointed in this knife, I heard such good things about Beavercraft so was happy to get it and the knife is good except the very top bit keeps bending and causing faults in my carving. It's such a shame as the rest of the blade is good and the handle is very comfortable to hold. However, Beavercraft have excellent customer service and the two other carvjbg tools I got from them are great. They contacted ne after seeing my review and gave me a full refund, so don't let my experience put you off.Happy carving!

OK but blade worked loose
It's a cheap-as-chips carving knife with a surprisingly good blade, albeit slightly thick for my preference (but that's my issue). The only complaint I have is that the blade worked loose in the handle within a couple of weeks so i had to remove it and re-glue it. It doesn't look great, but it works. Not brilliant in such a short space of time and potentially dangerous for a beginner.

Very Disappointed
This knife came so dull even stropping couldn’t bring it back to a useable edge.Had to regrind starting at a 400.If this is your first knife, spend a bit more. This knife is poor and will frustrate someone just starting out… with that said people who know a lot more about knives than me say they’re pretty good… maybe mine was a one off bad one????
