Redline Tuning21-27015-03 Hood QuickLIFT Elite System Compatible with Toyota Tacoma 2016-2023 (Stainless Steel Struts)

I just want to start out, that these are kind of a pain to install. The directions were printed in color which was really nice and detailed. Either watch an install video on youtube or read the directions carefully.The struts felt very durable and came with all the parts and rivets. The directions say to use a 3/16 drill bit, but after drilling out the holes, the rivets were very difficult to push in. I had to drill a little bit larger, but not too much because you do want them to sorta "snap" into the holes and created a snug fit once you pop the rivets in place. Once they're on , they are on there tight!When you take your measurements and find placement mount the ball joints, take a measurement again, and again to be absolutely sure otherwise these will not align well. What I thought would of been a 30 minute install, took me a few hours because I was meticulous with each point I marked for drilling, once they're riveted in to place, I wouldn't want to drill out the rivets to relocate them.After an absurdly long install, the struts snapped on the ball joints nice and snug. I would recommend these for anybody with a 3rd Gen Tacoma, just take your time with the measurements and do it right!*UPDATED RATING to 5stars below*So I mistakenly placed the bottom brackets before the 12 1/2" mark, even after I read the directions and measured several times. Being over meticulous and second guessing myself resulted in the struts not lifting properly and not lifting to propping rod height.Before I realized my mistake I contacted RedLine Tuning concerned I had bad struts. Their customer service was great and very prompt with responses, even offered to replace the struts whether it was my fault or bad parts. They even sent new #2 multigrip rivets at no charge in the mail (that same day) for re-installation. I ordered new struts since they sell each component separately or as the kit.I then re-positioned the brackets on the correct location and secured them down, everything then worked as it should have. Ultimately, I have a spare set of quicklifts, and 4 holes that need to be sanded down and patched up.

Bought new off amazon back in may 2017, for my 2017 tacoma trd sport, used the hood not more then two or three times, after the last oil change I did noticed the hood wouldnt open up fully or at all. All in all buyer beware. It is most likely a better idea to order directly from the manufacturer (redlinetuning) tried to file a claim with amazon but they insisted that must wait for the company to get back with me regardless. BTW followed install instructions to the T. The struts blew out while hood was closed, dont know how much more the superiority of the elite version is compared to the non stainless version. Wouldnt doubt if both are assembled is china...smh

An EXCELLENT addition to my 2017 Tacoma TRD OffRoad! Can't believe Toyota doesn't include hood struts on their newest Tacoma models but these are what they would look like if they did! The Stainless exterior looks great and add a touch of flair to the engine compartment. Installation is straight forward and anyone with the smallest amount of experience can do the job in a couple of hours!

I should have paid more attention I thought they were no drilling needed and I paid $30 more for stainless steel pistons and the hood does not open any more then using the rod. So I drilled into my hood and it doesn’t open any farther and I paid more MY BAD I SHOULD HAVE SENT THEM BACK BUT I PUT THEM ON ANYWAY. Don’t MAKE THE MISTAKE
