Not heard about the orchid complaining.
It was a gift, and they seemed very pleased with it. I know people talk to their plants but not heard back if the Orchid has a preference or not.

Smells awful but orchid seems to like the soil
Looks like all is well but then the smell hits you like a brick. Very fine, foul smelling potting mix. Would not recommend for indoor use. Update: 4 weeks later smell has almost gone after leaving the plant next to an open window and orchid seems to be okay and growing
