A 5 ⭐️ read
This’s one of my best reads this year, nothing would make me rate it less than 5 ⭐️. A perfectly gripping thriller with 10/10 bingeability. There are plot twists throughout the book. A great masterpiece just like the reference to ‘strangers on a train’ novel. All throughout the book my reaction was like 🤯. The characters are all equally damaged so the ending is so satisfying as each gets exactly what they deserve. My number one recommendation this year. Also after finishing this I couldn’t resist watching the 1951 movie ‘strangers on a train’ by Alfred Hitchcock!

An entertaining ride if you follow the golden rule of contemporary thriller reading: Don't overthink
An interesting psychological thriller with regular twists along the way. Inspired from the classic murder swap “Strangers on the Train”, which I haven’t read/watched and hence I could enjoy this as a fresh story. My initial response after completing the novel was quite positive. But as I dwelt on the plot, and especially on the ending, the questions start popping up. I should have remembered my policy: don’t overanalyse!Though I am not too convinced about certain turnarounds in the characters’ behaviour, the book still offers an entertaining ride. The atypical ending that leaves some things unsaid, will probably be a dealbreaker for some readers. But IMHO, authors have the right to decide what fate they want for a character they created, and just as in real life, karma doesn’t always work.Is this ending leaving an avenue open for a sequel? Not sure. But if yes, I’m definitely in.Definitely recommended to thriller fans, if you remember to go with the flow, don’t mind the slow-ish start, and are okay with unsettled character arcs.3.75 stars.Disclaimer: I received a complimentary copy of this book at my request and these are my honest thoughts about it, written voluntarily. Nowhere as good as his previous books
This book was a huge let down. it is nowhere as taut as his earlier books and the plot seemed disjointed and loose. The end was an anti-climax. All in all avoidable.

Okay… not impressed (kinda outliner)
Using a popular premise requires additional twists and shocks to keep the readers hooked. While some of it works here, the rest feels a bit too unbelievable. Yeah this is fiction, but you can’t leave those gaps open. There’s no timeline for both tracks, which is a way to retain suspense. Of course, readers can still figure it out. But there’s a ‘reveal’ that negates the theory, which makes readers wonder what’s going on. I was fooled for a minute but decided to stick to my original theory.Things start to come together after 70%, followed by some action and more reveals and twists. Again, some of it worked, but the rest didn’t make me go wow! I was still hopeful, only to realize that some questions would not be answered. I should accept what’s being told and move on. Not done! The pacing is uneven due to the filler content. It gets better in the last quarter, where things need to happen fast. The filler should have helped in relating to the main characters. Yet, that doesn’t happen. No matter how much I tried, I couldn’t connect with any of them. I did feel sad for Amanda and Ruth, but I wasn’t able to empathize with their situation (I blame it on the writing). The detective pair has some character development, which is surprising in a standalone. Maybe this will become a series (what’s the point in all that back pain if it goes nowhere).Still, the book highlights important themes like injustice, moral dilemmas, victim trauma, etc. It would offer quite a bit for book club discussions. To summarize, Kill for Me, Kill for You is an average thriller with some moments. How you like it will depend on what kind of thrillers you prefer. This will work great for some readers, so check out other reviews before you decide. Do check for triggers.Thank you, NetGalley and Atria Books, for the eARC. This review is voluntary and contains my honest opinion about the book.

So good!
I was looking for a book that would fit one of the 52-week book challenges (title starts with “K”) and I am SO glad that I came across this book. I read it in about 3 days, and I was hooked from the first chapter. Very suspenseful and lots of twists. I highly recommend this book to anyone who likes thrillers.

Page Turner
‘Kill for Me, Kill for You‘ by Steve Cavanagh is a fast paced page turner. A psychological thriller that is intricately plotted and very difficult to put down. Set in New York City’s Upper West Side, this novel has revenge, deception, and the extraordinary lengths to which people will go to escape the past and find justice. Two strangers, Amanda and Wendy, meet by chance in a bar and bond over shared grief and a desire for revenge against the men who ruined their lives. Straight out of the Hitchcock film ‘Strangers on a train’ their conversation reaches a dangerous pact of if you kill for me, I’ll kill for you. What follows is the aftermath of the conversation with both women grappling with the consequences of this deadly agreement. On the other side of the city Ruth is attacked in her home by a mysterious man with piercing blue eyes. She is terrified and struggles with the paranoia of been attacked again. The two events intertwine and there is uncertainty and suspense about how the pieces fit together. The novel is well written and the pacing is spot on. I couldn’t turn the pages quick enough wanting to know what was going to happen. This is a compelling read that I enjoyed from start to finish. An easy 5 stars

very good
Steve Cavanaugh is a genius. All his books are just brilliant. I can't imagine where he gets all his ideas for those plots. This book is very thrilling. You have to keep on reading, even if you don't have the time. As I said. Brilliant.
