Microbiologist's Review
- The head of the microscope may come loose if frequently moved but its easy to re-tighten with the provided side screw. - There was a bit of dust on the inside of the lens pieces but it was easy to wash off with methanol. I'm sure other cleaning solvents like Xylene would work just as well. - The included instructions kind of assume that the buyer already knows how to use a microscope but a quick YouTube video can easily train you to use it. + It was unclear in the pictures if the 100x objective was an immersion objective so I was prepared to order a 100x/OIL objective. Thankfully this product's 100x objective can be used with immersion oil. + The 40 and 100x objectives are slightly dimmer than the microscopes I've used in my lab but the sample is still easily viewable at max brightness. + The resolution at 2500x is good. At 5000x, the resolution is still surprisingly good. If you know how to properly focus a microscope you will easily be able to see individual cells, nuclei, and bacteria. Some reviews complained about the resolution with the 100x objective but it is important to note that immersion oil is needed at such high magnification; I don't see any real problems with the high magnification that Vevor advertises. I bought this microscope to stain and view bacteria out-of-lab and encountered no issues after about 3 weeks of use. This is an incredibly good and relatively cheap microscope for home experiments and beginner to intermediate labs.

Not worth the price!
Low quality construction. The camera on the trinocular lens didn't line up and was blurry. None of the attachments worked. I also tested using a third party digital camera (AmScope) but it still did not function properly. I would not purchase from this company again.

Could use a little more instructions on usage
Bought this for Christmas for the kids. It’s amazing but could use a little more instructions on using it. The phone older is not for your average cell phone size either.

How do I order a new one?

DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY
I also purchased this microscope as an Intermediate scientist. I'm so disappointed the camera didn't even come in mine. Also, Everything was contaminated even the inside of the lenses had hard-to-remove bacteria. I needed to bring out the bleach for the freaking microscope lenses! I just put the darn thing away to clean when I had more time and gloves. It's so gross. How do you even get bacteria inside a lens that not even alcohol would remove?
