VitaHerring in Wine Sauce, 32 Ounce (Pack of 06)

This is a very nice product. I was very happy with it, very impressed with the way it was shipped. It was shipped in a box that had insulating foam on all sides, with cold packs to keep it cold. I am not sure if it actually needs this because it is pickled but it was impressive none the less.The taste of the herring itself is very good. I have had others that cost much more and the flavor of this is familiar. I enjoy eating this on Triscuit's with pickled garlic.

I ordered a case of this...I'm a pig. The 4th jar of the 6 had a funny off taste, the 5th was again back to tasting good. I wish it were cheaper though. During winter holidays I can get it locally for like $7 per jar, this was almost $15 a jar. I'll wait for the holidays before I buy more.

I'VE BEEN EATING THIS PRODUCT SINCE I WAS A KID...MANY YEARS AGO. WE WERE EATING IT EACH DAY FOR YEARS. IT WAS DELICIOUS. BUT I NOTICED THE GOOD REVIEWS ENDED ABOUT 2020. SOMETHING CHANGED. HALF THE JAR HAD TO BE THROWN OUT. THE FISH WAS SPOILED AND THE TASTE HORRIFIC. DISCOLORED- DARK YELLOW TO BROWN. VERY FEW EDIBLE PIECES. CALLED THEY SAID THE DISCOLORATION WAS WHEN THE AIR HIT IT. I WONDER JUST HOW LONG THE AIR HIT IT AND SPOILED. ALSO, A THIRD OF THE JAR IS ONIONS. THERE USED TO BE A FEW PIECES OF ONION. THIS HAS HAPPENED WITH SO MANY JARS OF THIS HERRING. SO DISAPPOINTED IN THE COMPANY. I'LL BE LOOKING FOR A DIFFERENT BRAND GOING FORWARD. TIRED OF THROWING OUT HALF THE JAR.

Have always loved Vita brand herring in wine sauce. However, this year there are more onions in the jar than herring!! What's going on?? If this continues, list onions 1st in the ingredients not herring!

Packaging was unbelievable = styrofoam box & air bags to take up space - jars all connected together by plastic AND 2 REUSABLE ICE PACKS - WILL BUY AGAIN !

Last year I bought the bigger jars from another company. Wanted to get the smaller jars this year.2 of the lids on the jars were broken but most of the liquid stayed in. Not sure why they didn't secure it better.Still good fish.

Small pieces of Herring and I think the bottle is 25% onions, Not the Vita I remember but maybe my memory was clouded. There's much better brands available

Overly sweet and mushy. Called Vita and she said there have been many complaints. Best I've had was in Germany or when I make it myself. Used to be much better many years ago.
