Are you listening, Paul?
Chris Mars is one of the most refreshing stories in music history. A key, but unheralded member of a great band, who was kicked out of the band for basically telling the pop-star wannabe lead singer that he was wrecking the band. The band of course fell apart soon after. Chris did not resent the fact that the wannabe pop star got the attention, he just wanted to rock and be unique. Well, that former wannabe pop-star is buisy making horrible albums and cashing in on his past fame, while Chris is living somewhat in obscurity. But hey, I don't care, because this album is innovative and entertaining! So, Paul, you keep making your bad albums, and Mats fans will keep buying them, hoping you have returned to your roots. But I will keep collecting these Chris Mars albums, because they are pure.

Mars' talent < talent in Westerberg's fingernail
Where to begin with the douchebag review below. First, the "pop-star wannabe lead singer" was also the songwriter and reason the Replacements existed, moron. The Replacements weren't a great band because of their friggin' drummer. Paul Westerberg's last few solo albums have been rough home recordings in his basement, hardly a "pop-star wannabe" approach; they're uneven albums, but they've got a few gems. This Chris Mars album is painful, and he can't sing to save his life. I'm not sure what's "refreshing" about his story and I'm pretty sure Joe "Sick Boy" doesn't know, either.
