Oh Brother! It’s works so well!
Until now we’ve had an all-in-one printer scanner copier, but in fact all we really ever print are package return labels or package labels for items we are posting or email and work related documents, so this was bought to facilitate quick and easy printing of stuff like that, I mean who really prints photos at home these days anyway? The unit has a bigger footprint than other monochrome printers I had been looking at but I decided that being able to load a tray of appear rather than having to add as needed was a good trade off for us.Setup involved clicking the cartridge in ace, adding appear to the tray, plugging in and connecting to WiFi. All very easy and quick with good but brief instruction. I’d say I printed my first page within 5 minutes of opening the box!One factor choosing a monochrome laserjet printer was cost of prints. This comes with a ‘starter’ print cartridge, however it says will print about 700 pages, so initially this may take us a while to use up so Inrefrained from adding an additional cartridge to my basket. Replacement cartridges are quite expensive but when I looked at the cost of the 5 colours needs for my old printer and the fact that sometimes it was weeks between prints so the ink dried up, this printer won’t suffer that issue and in fact will be way more cost effective over time.I love the fact that it’s wifi connected to my home network and we can very quickly and easily connect and print from out phones, laptops and tablets with no problem at all. Eprint, Apple air print and other wireless printing tools are all catered for.Print quality so far is excellent. We haven’t printed any complicated images or tried to print photos in black and white yet although that was not what we purchased this printer for.Overall, this is a solid product that is a really good price if you are needing a small printer with effortless black and white printing.

Excellent Printer with no issues!
I have never had much luck with printers, but need one! So I figured I'd just get a black and white printer as maybe less problems! This has been fantastic, I am yet to have one issue with it! Connects every time, prints without issue. The ink last for ages as the cartridges are absolutely massive and very easy to change! The software seems to work great, I can definitely recommend the brothers brand!

Ok but not impressed
I took a lot of time doing research on printers and checked all the reviews on Amazon and found by far this had the better of you reviews for a laser printer the only reason why I'm giving it the 4stars. is because after using it, it wouldn't recognise any other toner cartridges and I tried several toner cartridges, but it kept coming up as low ink so I don't know if there's a software error, I brought three or four lots of toner to go in this printer and all of them wouldnt work. 2. this is not automatic double-sided printing. but it is in a sense it's automatic in the that it takes the page back inside and prints the reverse but it's not automatic as in you have to set it up manually to make it automatic.3. the interface there's only a tiny little window, it is very hard to see the menu. it is not that clear when you're actually setting it all up .4. overall it is a fast laser printer and does print good quality and it's good for the budget .5. I think the way that they put the power socket bit at the back of the machine rather than on the side of the machine and that makes it quite awkward if you want to put on a Shelf or in a cabinet or something like that and I find that quite awkward because I want to put it on the shelf so it meant they kind of the front of it protrudes because of the the plug where the socket protrudes from the back I think it would have been better if they've had that little the plug socket at the side of the machine and your day been a lot better other than that.6. I like the machine, very quiet printing very quick printing.7 quite complicated to set up as well in the respect of trying to set the menu up on the printer. just get a disc you put in your PC .8. don't print from the from the actual brother options , print from your computer options, because from brother it doesn't allow you to do double sided printing you have to go through your program like word or Excel whatever it is you're doing to actually print double-sided printing.

A Printer That Just Works (Even After 2+ Years)
Update (Sept 2025): After 1,350 pages, the replacement toner is still showing 80% left (photo included). Proven reliable and efficient.I don’t usually write reviews immediately—I prefer to give products time to prove themselves. After two years of use, I can confidently say this Brother printer has been excellent. It worked straight out of the box and continues to perform reliably. It’s connected to an Apple Mac network, and I’ve had zero issues with compatibility or performance. A solid, dependable printer that just works.Update – August 2025:• The screen is still bright and clear (see photo).• Printing is as crisp and fast as day one (see video).• Wi-Fi connection has remained rock-solid with no dropouts.Further Update:Now I can confirm this printer holds up over time. I’ve printed around 1,350 pages so far. The original manufacturer-supplied toner (not a full one) ran out at page 718, and the replacement is still showing 80% left. Print quality hasn’t dropped off, and the machine runs like new. I also skipped installing the bundled HP software — it felt intrusive. The built-in system works fine without it, so no extra software needed. Very impressed with the efficiency.Overall, this printer has proven itself over the long term — a rare thing in today’s tech.If you found this update useful, that’s great — it took me 2 years to write it!
