You don't need the expensive models. This one is just as good!
::UPDATE TO THE ORIGINAL REVIEW::So earlier this week, 12/11/2022, my old one died so I bought another one. Model 4100. This one comes with two intensity levels although I only use the higher one. The handle is a little slimmer and feels lighter and easier to hold.Unfortunately, it looks like Philips has started down the path of shrinkflation. The new one no longer comes with a charger, just a USB cable. My old charger might work but since I'm getting a brand new brush, I'd like a new charger too since the old one is all gunked up. Anyway, according to Philips they are no longer including chargers with these in an effort to save the planet or the ecosystem or whatever. They provide the charging base and a USB cable but no way to actually plug the thing into the wall. Sounds to me like nothing more than a way to increase their profit margins by providing less for the same amount of money. But, if you contact them and request a charger they will send you one so at least there's that.Anyway, I like the ergonomics of the new one better than the old one so I continue to be happy with the Sonicare. They should reconsider their "save the planet by not providing a way to charge the brush" strategy though.ORIGINAL REVIEW BELOWI bought this to replace my old Sonicare that stopped charging after about 2 years. The old one that died was one of the expensive models with all the different brushing modes and a travel case that doubles as a charger. It was nice but I only used one brushing mode. When that one died I checked Amazon to see what the current models were. I found this one, the cheap one, and decided that the more expensive ones were a waste for my needs.First thing I did was turn off the EasyStart mode. I then found that the vibration actually seems a little stronger than my older one.Bottom line, all I need is one mode, which happens to be the most effective mode, and this one works perfectly. I am not noticing any functional difference between this one and the more expensive one. The brush heads are the same. No, it doesn't come with a fancy travel case/charger but the regular charger is easy enough to stick in any travel bag.I recommend this one over the more expensive models. Its one brushing mode is the most effective one so there's no reason to pay 2 or 3 times as much for additional brushing modes unless you really need them.

Great price with the right features
I spent way too much time researching which toothbrush to buy. This one had the features I wanted at a good price.Tech:The ramp up period was perfect. I hadn't used an electric in a while, so having it start at a lower rate and build up to full strength was a great way to get started. I like that it vibrates every 30 seconds to tell you to move to a different quadrant and tells you if you are pushing too hard. The tech to tell you to change brush heads is cool too, but you have to buy their specific brush heads for that to work. After I ran out of my first set I bought a well reviewed alternative without the sensor chip. They still work well, but you don't get the little light telling you it's time to change it. Honestly the light telling me to change the brush head felt like it came later than I would have liked anyway.Battery:Battery life is excellent. I honestly couldn't tell you how long it is between charges because they are so far apart. I thought I would have to charge it every week, but it lasts way longer than that. When I travel I don't even bring the charger. I just make sure I have a full charge before I leave. I do wish it came with a travel case though.Brushing:Most importantly of all, it leaves my teeth feeling great. If you follow the instructions and brush at an angle along the gum line it removes way more debris than a manual brush. Cuts down on flossing time as a result. I have sensitive teeth, but the vibration doesn't bother me. Also cleans your tongue very well. Feels like a dentist clean! Love this toothbrush.

Amazing toothbrush worth every penny
This toothbrush is a game-changer for oral hygiene! It cleans far better than any manual toothbrush I’ve used, leaving my teeth feeling incredibly smooth and fresh after each use. The built-in pressure sensor and timer are great features that help ensure proper brushing technique and time. The battery life is excellent, lasting several weeks on a single charge, which is super convenient. It’s comfortable to hold and easy to use, making it perfect for everyday use. Just be sure to stock up on extra replacement heads, as you’ll definitely want to keep using this amazing toothbrush. Well worth the price!

Nice Toothbrush!
I have been using a pretty high end Oral-B electric brush for some time and was very happy with it. It recently bit the dust and I wanted to try something different. I had a Sonicare years ago and it seemed just OK. This one, 4100, is not the fanciest of their line but was a reasonable price and I decided to try it. I really like it better than the OB one, it is simpler but also a bit sleeker. The brush head itself is slimmer and seems to get to your back teeth better. The sonic action is pretty amazing, you can feel the superior clean after brushing. The sonic action also gets between the teeth to you can feel it clear to the other side. Again this model doesn't have all the bells and whistles as their top of the line but it has enough and I like the simplicity of it. One thing the Sonicare engineers should consider is put the excess pressure warning light on the other side of the handle so you can see it in the mirror when you are brushing. Not a big deal as the brush kind of stutters if you use too much force. If you sign up for brush head subscription you can get your first brush head for nearly free (1 cent was charge to my credit card) you can then cancel the subscription easily. It doesn't come with any kind of travel case if you are looking for that. I don't think you can go wrong with this brush and it just might get you out of the dentist's chair a bit sooner.
