Not a Bad Product
These are heavy-duty, sturdy brackets! They are much heavier than I was expecting and seem to be well-made. They come with the hardware you need, which is a nice plus! In terms of value, it is priced in the middle when compared to similar products...so take that for what you will. Overall, recommend!

Great quality
Was not expecting this to be so heavy duty. Wow. The material is thick and very heavy. Excited to put this together this spring when it warms up outside. Went through the kit and everything is there. My husband is an electrician and was really happy with the quality of these when they showed up. He works around this kind of stuff so he knows more about it than me, so seeing him excited about it and even more happy, really has me excited. Was worried about quality because it needs to hold up well in weather. If I have any concerns after we put it together I'll come back and update, but so far so good.

Used for a goat shelter, these things look nice and are really high quality
With winter coming, my goats needed a better shelter. Enter these pergola brackets that let me put up a 4x4 frame in only a few minutes. It comes with coated screws as well so it truly was "push boards into brackets and screw them in."The brackets are solidly built and I expect them to hold up to the wear-and-tear of goats. If they can survive goats, they can survive as your pergola. I plan on buying more of these for both my deck and more animal shelters! My advice is to build this with a partner. I used 8' 4x4s and it was very difficult to lift everything up myself. Those boards get heavy!

Work great, needs different wood screws for a finished appearance
12-14-23 & 12-4-23 These worked out great while adding 4x4 wood posts to accommodate handrailing being built. The steel seems thick enough for the task and they supply you with more than enough wiod screws for the job. Unfortunately all the screw heads are shaped intended to be counter sunk. This works well for the base plate, but the 8 holes on the vertical sides aren't as large diameter and the screw heads stick out snd dont look finished. I ended up investing even more money on the proper dome shaped screws for a finished appearance on a costly investment. Overall I like the set but they should include the proper headed wood screws for the job.Hopefully this was helpful, Thank you!

Durability at a Great Price
After deciding that I wanted a backyard Gazebo or Pergola, I started looking at pre-built furniture. Found that the products are way overpriced for the quality, so I decided to build my own. Looking at "Pergola Kits" that come with everything but the lumber (basically this set with some shade fabric), I found that these kits are also very overpriced.Found this item, and highly recommend. This set is just as good as the "kits", but cost much less (and not by a small amount, hundreds less).Sizing - These brackets are rated to accept 4x4 (3.5x3.5 actual) square posts. My local lumber supply carries pressure treated and standard Douglas Fir 3.5x3.5 actual size, as well as 3.375x3.375 actual size Redwood posts. In my pictures, you can see the pressure treated post, as well as the smaller Redwood post. Both sizes look like they would work fine. Also note - my testing was done with very old and dry posts. If you purchase new lumber, you can be almost certain that it will be a tighter fit due to the moisture content. The bottom brackets have drainage holes on the bottom, with the center elevated - to prevent moisture accumulation and wood rot. The top brackets are very heavy duty, and trust that they will do a good job of holding the Pergola together - the brackets should outlast the wood posts they secure.I also appreciate that all screws and mounting bolts are included. All you need to do is supply wood and shade fabric!
