This product is awesome. I had just purchased a 1998 Ducati ST2 with just over 2o,ooo Mike's. The bike was in mint condition , but the bike had been sitting in the sellers garage for over 2 years. The fuel basically turned into varnish which gummed up the interior of the gas tank. The rust was minor but it was in the whole interior of the tank. I pressure washed the tank to remove gumed up fuel and then used "Metal Rescue" per directions. OMG this stuff cleaned away all the rust!!!!! The bike shops wanted $400- 600 to clean and re-coat the tank? WTF. $89.95 and I basically have a new tank.Thanks Meral Rescue and Workshop Hero for making this product!!!

I very rarely write reviews, but this product surely deserves testimony. My 1982 Honda CB900f fuel tank was rusted severely to the point that I thought I needed to replace it. A used one in as bad a shape as what I had was $300 to $400. To send it out for restoration was very expensive also. I searched the internet for an answer and saw Metal Rescue on You Tube. I couldn't believe what I was seeing. I also went to Metal Rescues home page and watched a video there which explained the product further. I decided to try it. I followed the directions set forth in the video to get my tank ready. I poured Metal Rescue in and let it set for the prescribed time of 12 hours. When the time was up I drained the Metal Rescue back into it's 5 gallon pail and rinsed out my tank. I peered inside and VIOLA!!!! All the rust was gone. Clean as a whistle. Metal Rescue is fantastic. This product may have seemed expensive at first, but it saved me hundreds of dollars. The best part is that you don't have to throw it away. Save it for another job. It doesn't clean just gas tanks. It will clean rust from anything. It won't attack paint, decals, or base metal. It just destroys rust. Keep using it until it is played out. At that time you can dispose as you see fit. It is an all safe biodegradable product. THANK YOU, METAL RESCUE!!!!

Product states to place items in liquid and will remove light rust after 8 hours for light rust. The time frame stated is incorrect. The item states the liquid will not remove paint. An antique coal box lost total value as the original paint was destroyed under the 8 hour window. Item states it will not damage wood handles. This is not accurate. Items with heavy rust are damaged. In addition, the item leaves a heavy residue requiring heavy cleaning with degreaser several times.Very unhappy with purchase. Would not recommend product. Would prefer a refund

I was supposed this stuff actually works. I will say I am glad I purchased this for my motorcycle gas tank. That rust just fell of snd my tank was looking a lot better after. For best results let items soak for at least 24 hours in a warm or hot environment for maximum results.

Was rebuilding a tractor motor that was locked up. Poured about 1/2 to 1 inch of this over the pistons and in 1-2 days, it was running! Well worth the money!

Worked very well. I tried electrolysis, the used this product, was derusting parts on a 1936 tractor, works very well on cast iron and cast steel, including buts and bolts. I used on some of sheet metal. It works but overnight maybe too long. I bought the 5 gallon size. I know keep a little plastic bowl full and use it over and over. Doesn’t seem to evaporate and it is none toxic safe to get hands in it.

followed video instructions closely and let gas tank soak overnight and it worked great. treat afterward with rust preventative or fill w gasoline.

The only thing that would make this product better is a lower price. But it's worth it if the item(s) you are de-rusting is valuable to you or others. I am restoring a large vise. After removing the grease and most of the paint there was still a light coat of rust as well as a few spots with heavier rust. I soaked the parts for three hours, then towels dried. 100% of the rust came off. This product works amazingly well. When towel drying, your towel will most likely be ruined or at least heavily stained.

This stuff actually works. If you rinse off with water beware of flash rust. Use when warm.

I love this stuff. I restore bikes and I can now restore parts in hours by soaking them. Intricate parts come like new. Great value as it’s Re useable.

This product worked great. Cleaned a heavy scale rust out of a forty year old motorcycle gas tank to a clean etched surface. No fumes or scary acid. Worked great highly recommend.

With adequate prep this took a 1973 motorcycle tank that was internally coated in rust and made it look almost like new. You still need a plan to avoid flash rust as this will not completely prevent that.

Does not work like I think it. Should turns every thing black. An it gets all over your hands.

My motorcycle tank was very rusted after sitting for a while. I put the Rescue in and let it sit 48 hours. To my amazement this product worked fantastically well. And no paint damage!! This is the way to go!! most assuredly.
