Knowledge Encyclopedia: The World as You've Never Seen it Before

You can easily spend weeks reading through all these pages and looking at diagrams. Very intuitive and engaging way of presenting things like the Periodic Table of elements with insets on valence electron atom structure, as just one example. I love how some pages just take a very deep dive with elaborate diagrams and cross sections of some very detailed topic and develop it, even though this is primarily a large high level overview. Organization is done very well, and I am still finding details and little anecdotes and facts noted on page headers that I missed. I really love how DK books present information, and they have done a great job not just "recycling" pictorials and diagrams from many of their other books (a very small number either similar or reused, but in different scale and developed in a very different way) so don't worry about doubling up too much on their other books (like picturepedia or space or dinosaurs) as they come at things and develop them out quite distinctly to make it worth owning all of them.

I bought this book for my daughter and she loved it, it is very complete, it has very interesting facts and the quality of the photos are very good.

I thought it was interesting and the adults enjoyed flipping through while the kids were distracted by toys. The pictures are large and very interesting and the text is mostly in captions, so there’s not a ton of reading but the vocab level is high. There about 2 pages per topic, so it covers a lot. Keep in mind the Biology pages have a pretty large image of ovaries and eggs with a description of fertilization. Nothing inappropriate or inaccurate but the receiver was young (very bright) so I checked to make sure they were ready for conversations if they hadn’t had them yet.

This was an excellent buy and transaction. I ordered two of these books for my granddaughters, (8, 6, 4, & 1 yrs. old) who are homeschooled. I kept one book at my house to use whenever they're visiting. The book has a large hardcover. It's easy and interesting to read. Also, the author/publisher does a great job making sure the content is appropriate for multiple grade levels. There are easy to understand explanations and beautiful pictures!!! It covers a host of topics that meet Common Core objectives,too! When I first gave a copy to my gr kids, the oldest one nearly got in trouble for trying to sneak the book into bed. Funny thing, my daughter admitted after confiscated the book, she and hubby sat up in bed going through the book, too! I can already tell this book will be a staple reference among our family for many years to come.

My daughter soaks up information of all kinds and enjoys doing research on things she is interested in. When I saw this book, I snagged it for a gift and she loves it! I would highly recommend!

My child likes the book a lot. Parents should know that the book contains reproductive information. It is done in a scientific manor. It does contain a picture of Michelangelo's David. It also contains information about non-binary people.

Lots of facts and the illustrations are fantastic. Covers a wide range of topics, so a good introduction to each area for starters. The book is quite heavy.
