Will play most USB video formats and will read a 2TB external drive
What attracted me this player is that it will play media from a 2TB hard drive and most of the formats that I have on hard drives and flash drives. I wanted something to back up my Sony 6700 and Patriot media player. The USB on this player will play MP4, MKV, FLV, MP3 (audio) and some AVI. If you get a format issue and just get the audio, hit the stop button once or twice. If it stays on the blu ray disc screen, push the media control button and your list of files will pop up. You have to scroll back up to the top of files to get to another folder. There is no shuffle option so if you have a long list of MP3 files, use the Go To button. However, you have to use the move left button the right place before pushing the numbers buttons. Unless you can remember all the numbers that correlate to your song titles, just hit next button until you get a song you want to hear. I have not had any problems playing any DVD and Blu-ray disc, but it has been a few years since I bought a new Blu-ray movie.This player is mostly positive. The cons are that it does not shuffle music, hard to exit a folder to another folder, not great with AVI, use some buttons a lot to where you may need to find a compatible remote one of these years, and you may have to point the remote directly at the right place or it will be non-responsive. I guess if the tariffs are not going to hit the unit before the next Prime Day, I may buy another one at the right price. However, I have hooked up my PC to my big screen, so I may have to get used to using a PC with VLC to play my media in the future since that will play all the formats without any problems and it will play music randomly and through my Bluetooth speakers.

An excellent HD blu ray DVD player
The resolution is excellent on my TV monitor, and even the DVDs look better unless you are viewing a poor quality DVD.

Playback fine, remote works poorly, display not useful
The playback is fine, but I got this specific player because I was hoping the display would show both the track and progress as old style players used to do, but it only shows the latter, which is more or less worthless. I still have to turn on my television to see which track is playing.In addition, the remote is very balky, sometimes working, sometimes not.Overall, a disappointment
