I have very thick curly hair and these combs stay in place very well. They do not snag my hair when I remove them. They are slim and not bulky at all but very sturdy. Will be ordering a variety of styles.

Holds Hair securely, and doesn’t poke your scalp. I live in the tropics, and this time of year the humidity and heat is intense. I usually wear my hair up because it gets in the way when I’m doing things. But when my hair is piled on top of my head, over the hours the hair on the nape of my neck frizzes and knots, becoming unmanageable and not very comely. I used to use these years ago just to hold my hair off my face, but for summer this works great to tame the knotted mess from an up do in this heat, my hair is very long and thick. Generally it’s become curly as I’ve gotten older, but I think these would hold even straight, fine hair. It doesn’t pinch, and is very secure. I even dozed off after dinner laying flat on the couch and I forgot the comb was there on thr back of my scalp. It didn’t budge, didn’t poke me, or break from the weight of my head. These definitely work. Make sure you get the right size for your purpose and type of hair. I will order more in br 4” size as well, but these even held my hair off the face when I wore it down as a test run out doing errands earlier. My hair stayed put and I didn’t have to readjust. Glad I found the brand my mom remembered using.

These combs really hold the hair well. Combs like this are impossible to find now so I was very happy to find them on Amazon. Great size, work well, and look good.

I like these, they do have a good grip. I thought they'd be a little longer, but overall I'm very happy with this product. (Also the packaging is cute)

I use these almost every day. Whenever i put my fine, thin, annoyingly fragile hair up (about every other day - the days I don't wash it, i use one of these combs to catch all the hair at the base of my skull that doesn't reach my bun, and pin it up off my neck. The closeness of the tines really does make a huge difference. I rarely have to take the comb out to redo it, because my hair doesn't fall out of it all day. Like 12 hours or more. I mean, sure, little fuzzy hairs start to stick out, but anything long enough to get caught ip in the comb, stays in the comb. Well made product with no sharp edges to encourage hair brakage. They are a bit flexible, so no tines have broken off and it's easy to bend it a bit to fit it to my head shape and cover all the tines with hair. I also have the 1" ones. They are equally fantastic & easy to use, & cause no damage.

Great hair comb. Used it with my costume for the Jane Austen Festival in the UK. These kept my thick hair up all evening. No slips or loose hair. Solid plastic.

Good grip without pulling or pinching the scalp. Comfortable and light to wear all day. You forget that you have combs holding up. Excellent for my fine thinning hair.

I'm so happy with these - I couldn't for the life of me get side combs to work, so had resorted to using Bobby pins in my vintage hairstyles. These are so much better, dont pull/damage my hair, are so easy to use and they really do stay put. I bought both the 1.5" & 3.25" as they're the only available lenghts - I just hope amazon starts stocking the full range of sizes!

Expensive but they last so much longer than the cheaper brands. They work brilliantly.

I was looking for a legend (almost not kidding), and I found something rather tiny and flimsy. I mean, I trust that this is exactly how this product was when it was exciting everyone many decades ago. I just... got a bit disappointed by lack of magic. It does the job though. Just like countless others, and for considerably more coins - putting it into an a-ok category.
