They are better when heated up on a baked potato or pasta dish. A little plasticky on salad. I love these bits. Great bacon replacement!!!! I'm glad the chef can't up with this as an alternative. Praise to the chef and crew. I would like them have a lil more flavor but it's okay the way it is, like a less salty food for better health. I would like to see them in local stores with the rest of the salad topping products.

This product has become very hard to find in my local grocery stores, so I was so happy to find them on Amazon. Great bacony taste and crunch, without the fat and cholesterol.

crunchy and has good flavor! if you're familiar with liquid smoke, this is what's in this. not perfect but good enough.

These bacon-less bits unfortunately do not taste like bacon at all. They taste like what they are - pinto beans. Dehydrated pinto beans with some seasoning. They taste okay for what they are, just don’t expect them to be a good substitute for bacon. I was pretty bummed that they weren’t what they claim to be since other imitation bacon bits just taste like pure liquid smoke. I was hoping to find a better fake bacon. My plan was to use these on pizza but I really don’t want it to just taste like beans.

I didn't need the package to know that these were made from pinto beans, as that is what they taste like. There was an initial smokey, bacon-ish flavor but that rapidly disappeared. My other complaint is that they are small flakes, not "bits," so they don't have the same substance as a bacon bit. But they do have a really great crunch to them. I'll add them to bean soup, so the bean flavor blends in, but I probably won't order them again.

These were a great find! Definitely worth it if you don't mind the crunch.
