Night and day
Connected with co-ax to SMSL Q5 Pro and everything sounds tight and dynamic now compared to using standard pi usb before.Volumio found it as I2S device straight away didn't have to do anything after rebooting.Hige difference, easily best bang per buck upgrade in a long time.

Never too old to tinker 😆
Fitted on top of my pi 3 and set up audio settings on the pi via opt cable then neotech digi to analogue converter to my old denon pma 920 amp and works good enough for me ☺

Works well
Set up a Moode Audiobase pi, and the Hat works perfectly, outputting via TOSlink to my DAC

Cracker-DAC...!
Relatively new to the world of DAC's and streaming, but raspberry PI is too cheap and too fun not to give it a go, not only can you get fully invested in your very own HIFI 'built' electronic gadget, you can also take pride in claiming you 'built it yourself' - even if most semi dextrous five-year olds could also probably do it... ho-hum. So I started with a Ras Pi 3 and plugged in the Just Boom DAC hat - it really is pretty simple - loaded Volumio - one of several music orientated OS' you can download for free - and away I went. Before the Justboom DigiHat was added I had the RP3 linked via USB to a CA DACMagic - already sounded pretty good, but inserting the DigiHat and using the Toslink connector instead of the USB, yep there it is - the elusive 'slight improvement' I had been hoping for. It really is very good - why is that? Because (according to others) '.... the digi hat extracts digital audio from the Raspberry Pi below for output via its own TOSLINK and galvanically-isolated, 24bit/192kHz-capable coaxial sockets. Jitter reduction comes courtesy of a WM8804GEDS S/PDIF chip....' It's that last bit isn't it? Jitter reduction - jitter is something to do with clock switching and digital synchronicity via the USB port (sooooo interesting). The digi hat allegedly doesn't suffer from that. I'm prepared to believe it, the overall effect on the digital feed to the DAC is difficult to quantify, but when it comes to delivering the goods, overall its never sounded better. BTW, if I had known more about such things as RasPi, Just Boom Volumio etc, I woudln't have bothered spending the extra £200 on the Audiolab 6000A play - just buy yourself a good amp with a built in DAC and add a RasPi as the streaming source - that's what i'll be doing from now on...!

Great sound and easy to install
Used with pi3 b+ and Volumio. Took an hour to build the whole system and get it working. Great sound quality using toslink output. High quality streaming for the price of a takeaway...
