All you need is an ajustable end wrench or an 11 mm socket and about 2 minutes. No need for tape or dope. It should last as well as the original.

This was my third attempt to get a replacement safety valve for my Bialetti stove top expresso machine!As the saying goes: third time a charm!What all the other sellers lacked, this one had!Just like on a blue print for any industrial design, stating the safety valve was M9 meant it was finally going to be a mechanical fit.All the other purchases never fitted because they never provided the proper mechanical sizes of their safety valve.M9 is a standard ISO size. old valve got overheated at some point and would let off steam permanently. instead of getting a whole new mokka maker, this nifty little thing plus 10 seconds of work and everything is back to perfect!
