I would use better quality 3M tape.

If fits on any car. It just goes along the edge of the door. So as long as you have a normal door, you should be fine. It sticks with adhesive tape.

How thick is the part?

This part is not very thick at all. It fits and looks very classy on my car and I am getting ready to buy me another set for my new car...
