Cello Submarine: Beatles Classics by the 12 Cellists of the Berlin Philharmonic

Poor sound quality recording, with no acoustic depth or imaginative musical composition.What a disappointment and insult to the beautiful Cello, with CD having gone into the bin!

A good classical version of Pop composers.

Perfect, exactly as described - excellent to sing along to in the tragic!

I bought this expecting one of 2 things........either a Wagnerlike powerful Germanic assault on the Beatles back catalogue, full of swooping droopy chords and powerful ensemble bowing.......OR an imaginative reinterpretation of some of the greatest tunes ever written, by immensely talented musicians toying with the main themes, circling and snatching titbits to twist into delightfully skewed mimicry.......but sad to report it's neither. It's 12 cellists playing some middle of the road Beatles songs in a rather middle of the road fashion with next to no vim or vigour in either the playing or the scoring.Should be 2.5 stars cos it's OK, but I don't like it.
