The green one is beautiful. They both look very well made. It was a bit difficult taking the tops off. But I suppose that is a good thing, considering how delicate the tips are. I have not actually used them yet. I need to purchase some ink (the listing indicates they are unable to ship it with ink, as to not make a mess). I will update once I actually use them, to speak to the quality of writing.

I'm new to fountain pens, I'll admit. But I'm a veteran stationery snob and these pens are beautiful to write with. With the cap posted, the weight and balance are perfect, the grip comfortable. Sometimes the ink takes a bit to get going when starting but the flow is very nice once it is. The looks aren't anything particularly impressive, but that's fine with me for a workhorse I can keep on the desk for random scribbles as much as flowing journaling. My penmanship with this pen is easy to flourish and get effortless arching curves and loops.I got the black and blue option and both are very nice to write with. The box is cheap, but works fine. The converter took a bit of finagling to get working but was fine after a few tries. All in all, this is a boring looking delight to use, and well worth the money.

I like them. They write well. I like the weighted balance of these pens.

The black forest pen similar to these is my all time favorite. These look similar but they don't work. No ink flows. It looks the tines in the nib aren't even cut. I would return but I'm unable to drive, live more than 20 miles from the post office. I would be happy just being sent new, workig nibs. I didn't bother calling because the last time I tried resolving an issue it was with a $168 Drewent Ink blocks. First order sent me pastels. 2nd time, pastels. I hate asking people to drive more than 40 miles for a mistake that keeps happening. I ended up paying 336 dollars for zero blocks. Bought a cheap timer, doesn't work.

As someone who is just diving into the world of fountain pens, these are awesome. I have another fountain pen that takes the same ink cartridge as these do and was able to try them out. They feel good in the hand. Comfortable to write with. They are heavy enough to enjoy the writing experience but not to light. They are completely metal. I like that they are thin. Not a fan of the thick pens and these are perfect. The ink cartridge you have to really push it in til it clicks. When you hear the click then you know it is ready to go.Writing with them is very smooth. Not scratchy at all like some pens can be according to others. Ink flows nicely. Great value. Recommend. Fun pens.

Got this as a Christmas gift for my dad, who loves good fountain pens and he seemed to really like this set. They were compatible with the refill cartridges he already had on-hand, and the pens write really well. He liked the flexibility of having the converter, but he doesn't use inkwells, so that part looks like it'll be more of a novelty feature for him. He said they had good weight as well.

Giving two stars because the pens are nice, and feel well-made, however, one of them (the black one) had clearly been used, as there was black ink in the nib, which didn't become apparent until I filled the converter, and tried to flood the nib. The drops that came out were black, and contaminated my ink (a medium/light shade of teal). The converters also both have bad seals, and come apart when trying to fill them. Ended up with ink all over the place. I was going to carry these with me, at work, but I have concerns about them leaking in my pocket. I'll look for other converters or cartridges, and hope for the best.

These are a very sturdy pen, well made and they write well. The nibs are steel, making them a little stiffer than the average luxury fountain pen but that's a nice thing. You don't have to be quite as worried about the "tender touch" as you some times do with other pens. They write nice and fine and you can bang them around the truck without worrying about damaging them. I just bought another set as a gift for friends. Not a problem with these at all.
