Neutrogena Mattifying Primer with Shine Control, 1 oz

Best value for your dollar. I use this combined with Neutrogena matte cc cream. I am 62 years old & my past foundations were settling in my lines & pores & making me look older. These are lightweight products, they feel clean on my skin & dont settle in lines & pores. I put the primer & foundation on my brush together & blend in. Works great. Highly recommended.

Great makeup primer! I have purchased this primer several times. I have bought other brands and they are not as good as this one. This really helps with the shine control. Definitely recommend it.

This is VERY MATTE. I am trying this product to see if it gives my makeup some longer wear time, especially for formal occasions + dancing. My face sweats a lot, which often has my makeup melting away or fading away. I'm not using it to fight oily skin. I'm a dry skin girl, not even combination skin. For any dry skin girls trying this, please prep your skin well before using this product. Otherwise, you will feel dry.

I recently tried the Neutrogena Matte Primer, and while it does have some positives, I can’t give it a perfect rating. I have very oily skin, and although the primer keeps me matte for part of the day, it doesn’t quite live up to its claims of staying matte all day. By midday, I find myself having to blot my face multiple times. It does help control oil for a few hours, but I was hoping for something with a bit more staying power. For reference, it feels smooth going on and does create a nice base, but it just doesn’t quite keep up with my oily skin throughout the day. I’m still on the hunt for a primer that can handle my skin type more effectively, but this one is okay for shorter wear. I’d rate it 3/5 stars.

I just wanted to warn anyone who may have sensitive skin, this could be a source of a potential problem. I used this a few days ago and it started out ok, later in the day I noticed my face was a little red, washed it off at night like normal. This was the only thing new in months and I wore it completely alone to see if I had a reaction, ive had reactions to other neutrogena products before. Got up the next day to a allergic reaction around my eyes and down my cheeks. red, swollen skin and was itchy . I'm allergic to fragrance and chemical sunscreen but this product doesn't contain either. But when I looked up each individual ingredient the 4th through the 7th ingredients has the potential to cause irritation and reactions. Just wanted to warn anyone else who may have sensitive skin to be cautious with the Neutrogena mattifing line. Super sensitive skin is annoying 🙄
