Surprising attention to detail
This is fantastic! Very well made with a surprising attention to detail. It clearly shows the interaction between crankshaft, camshaft and distributor. Built this with my 15yo grandson. Watched a couple “how an engine works” videos then built the model. At the end of the day he had a clear understanding of how a basic engine works. A must for any young boy or girl.

Great Product.
I got this for my adult son for Christmas: he loved assembling it and showing his daughter how an engine functions.

loose rods...
it's a great model ''' but instructions suck ''''' the clearance"s on the crank ... and rods was auffull...it nocked bad .. i used a little alumanim foil tape and rapped the crank rod jurnals and the front crank main bearing ..... if you don't..your distributor drive gear to cam drive and timing belt will be loose.. the timing will be perity far off.......but it is a great model.....well worth doing

Learn. Get smart. It might not be perfect.. but you'll learn.
I grew up in a wrecking yard and my dad was a diesel mechanic and mechanic of all types. I am good with body work, welding upholstery. But the mechanical side was always beyond my grasp of understanding. So I bought this for myself for Xmas to get the jist on how to build an engine and the parts and names. Im tired of mechanics treating me stupid. I dont have my dad or any dudes. So, ima learn and not get taken advantage of anymore. Mechanics if your reading this. I grew up with one, dont think just cuz you see a girl, she's completely stupid. Yall are making us step up, and check you. Mechanics dont have a good name because of these situations. Do better. Don't take advantage of women because you think we're stupid. We're getting smarter to combat how you treat me. I have vehicles I'm having restored, classics. And I'm tired of men treating me less than.

Check for warped, missing parts
First engine never showed up. Replacement came in with very bad warped parts and a vital part missing. I spent a couple of hours with a hair blow dryer on medium heat and slowly and carefully, off and on was able to get 95% of the warp out from the clear part. For the price you shouldn’t have to try to fix warped parts. I got lucky”! The timing belt was missing but was able to find something close enough to work. Since the first kit was lost in transit and a replacement was sent out in its place I tried to get “this” defective kit replaced. I was told “you already have this one as a replacement” and another one couldn’t be sent out to replace this second one. I never received the first one to begin with. So I was told that I could send it back for a refund. This was a major disappointment for a Christmas gift. I suggest if you order one and it doesn’t show up ask for a refund and start over again. At least if it does show up defective you stand a chance getting it replaced.

Awesome kit
Value for money. Easy to assemble, my 10 year old did this in about 3 hours.

1965 Mustang is a nice project.
Very nice working model. Through instructions. Nice history of the the Mustang. Engine sound is a little faint.
