I have been a longtime user of the Jason Markk cleaner but I read heard their shoe protectant was subpar so I began my search for the best shoe protectant for all my all white Nikes. It was between Crep Protect and Solemate Guard and after extensively reading through reviews I decided to go with Solemate Guard. There were some reviews of the Crep Protect that mentioned it ruining shoes which I did not want to take a chance on. Sure, it’s a well known name in the sneaker industry and I may try it in the future but Solemate Guard has hit all the boxes. The spray nozzle puts out an even mist which makes it easy to not overdo it, there is no chemical smell, and no residue or color altering. Also the price is great! I have not tested the water resistance but I can say that my white shoes no longer hold onto dirt even when I accidentally rubbed it against my dirty car door, I just brushed it off and it was back to all white.

It smells like chemicals when you first spray it but it works great. I work at a restaurant and my manager suggested it. I got Alfredo sauce on my shirt and it didn’t leave a stain. I took it off with a damp paper towel. I only had a wet spot that dried up. You couldn’t even tell what had happened!

It’s the only shoe protectant I’ll buy!!! Hands down the best. I’ve tried others and they are just a waste of money. I usually get one can a year of clout guard. Price has gone way up though- 2020 I paid 12.99 & last year I paid 16.99.

Good protectant

I bought this product to treat how walking boots and shoes during an extended trip through Europe this winter, and it worked great. Excellent water repellant properties without appreciable discoloring of the leather; did not change the suppleness of the leather like Sno Seal or other beeswax preparations. Very happy!

A month later and these bad boys have been to New York, my niece’s 3rd birthday party, drunk bar crawls and even a hike. I’ve walked through flooded streets, mud and garbage. The only marking was the black scuffs on the sole but it’ll come off. The canvas still held up. It yellowed just a bit but not enough to notice in pictures.
