Brother 2104D Overlocker

Phenomenal.I've had a lot of concerns about using an overlocker, enough to put me off, fears of them being too complicated and difficult, however, this one has been really simple to work with. It's sturdy, easy to understand and works really efficiently.

My old Brother 1034D overlocker finally decided to retire itself so I needed a new one quickly. This arrived the next day. It is a joy to use. Very similar to my old one but the needle seems much easier to thread, so the design must be slightly different. Lovely flat surface, after overlocking, to work on. Great service and great value for money.

My husband bought this for my birthday 😊, it was my first overlocker.I’m a beginner and only been sewing since Christmas 2023, I didn’t want something expensive or to complicated to use.This machine come pre threaded with 4 cones of white thread and ready to go straight out of the box, other brands I looked at didn’t come with thread or only 2 so you would have to buy another 2 to use it.the instructions and dvd were very good, and the machine worked beautifully 👍I found it pretty straightforward to thread and this came with additional presser feet which I haven’t used yet.Overall I’m very happy with it and would recommend it 👍

I have this machines ‘big brother’ the 4234D, It’s in for repair so I needed a back up machine for my micro business. I love my other machine so wasn’t expecting to love this one but I’m pleasantly surprised. This is simpler, it doesn’t have some of the features but I rarely use much more than straight overlock. My 4234D is better built but for the money you’d expect that. This 2104D is simpler to use and thread, can be used straight from the box, sews well and is good with a variety of fabrics. For a beginner or an occasional user it would be perfectly adequate. No need to spend more.

This is an impressive overlocker, it's the one the lady from Wardrobe By Me uses in her You Tube videos.Threading is straightforward if the instructions are followed and the machine gives even stitches. My criticisms are that the light and flimsy foot controller could do with more weight and the cable to the foot controller is only just long enough for my table. If my table had been an inch higher it would have been unusable.

Very easy to use, and very clear instructions how to us it on cd . Managing very thin and thick material, also very quiet . I am very pleased 😁

Love this. Knife works well, several adjustments including one for stretch fabrics, number of threads and needles and several alternative feet. Would have liked a thread catcher as the fabric ‘dust’ goes into the machine and a slightly longer lead for the foot pedal but otherwise, very happy.
