Finally I got rid of the TalkTalk horrible modem/router
I bought this fibre/DSL modem to replace my current Talktalk modem/router, because what Talktalk offers is very limited and also block many network features.I have a good router and I wanted to use it, but I was blocked by the talktalk modem/router.With this product (Huawei BT modem) it worked perfectly! This modem connected directly to the internet without any Router function. Now I connect my router to it and get a free connection to the outside world managed by my router that is MUCH better than the talktalk one.Beware, this modem only works as a modem. It will not setup your network so you will need a router to distribute the internet to multiple devices or via wifi.If you are looking for a clean connection to your TalkTalk service, I really recommend this product!

Excellent modem for use with non ISP routers
Bought this Modem to use with my Netgear XR500 Nighthawk router. So far it has served its purpose well in delivering an internet connection.I actually haven't done any setup with the router, as a BT customer, the login information is basically the same for everyone, so its basically plug and play. One thing to note is I have had a few issues with DHCP leasing, which i'm unsure whether its my Netgear router playing up, or if there is some conflict between the router and modem. However my usage of an internet connection is fairly extensive (can be 50+ devices connected at once), so for a less intense user, this would probably not be an issue for you.You can access the modem settings fairly easily by connecting an ethernet to the modem and typing the local router IP in your web browster. The user manual is quite extensive, you can find the manual online with a quick search (model is a Huawei Echolite HG612), so I may tackle this at some stage to ensure everything looks correct.

Perfect product. No really
This was a perfect no fuss alternative to other modems out there. Quite literally plug and play for our Wi-Fi system. A must buy for anyone thinking of using a 3rd party router with their UK ISP( in our case BT). Word of warning you will not be able to revert to normal phone lines once upgrading to digital voice so make sure you do not upgrade if using this with a 3rd party router. 3rd party router must also support pppoe. In our case the ASUS AX mesh system

Typical BT item
This is the third purchased and with an expected lifespan of two years it is poor value

Works Well with Plusnet Fiber and a Netgear Nighthawk Router
It still blows my mind that you see all the top gaming Routers without built-in modems and you have to rely on your internet providers crappy routers to Bridge from.Plusnet Routers do not support Bridging so you get the common Double Nat issue. I tried to find a stand-alone Modem which proved to be a challenge so I took a shot on this second-hand modem and I am happy I did as I managed to get rid of my ISP Plusnet router and this modem still supports my full 67meg speed.Top Tip is to do your Router setup via your ISP router first so that you have the correct settings on your personal router before you set up this modem because it will not work if your router setup is not done correctly. So if you find it is not working first double-check your router setup first

Couldn't get it to work.
Couldnt get it to work. Maybe cause im not in UK. Wouldnt work with router. Plugged it into laptop which said no isp protocol. Other reviewers seemed happy with it. For me it wasnt v expensive, more frustrating it didnt solve my problem. If anything it gave me an extra one.
