It's all integrated into one assembly
I've used this for a couple years now and have no operational complaints. There are no wires dangling, there isn't any parts to knock off or come loose, and the switches are integrated and hard mounted; all of this makes for a streamlined attachment that is almost as reliable as the Mossberg that it's attached to. The only possible criticism is that it does weigh a lot more than the OEM front stock it replaces (after all there is a light, batteries, and switches in a thicker and more robust housing). As long as you're not taking it out daily for hunting season and having to tote it around, this extra weight is of little to no concern. I am very happy with how bright it is. It does everything I need it to do, and it does it seamlessly.

As Advertised
Authentic and well packaged. Install is a little in depth, but doable for anyone with basic tools and some mechanical inclination. I will point out, this light is heavy, adds quite a bit to the business end of the shotgun.

Worth it!!!
I was really worried about buying and installing it because the soy boy reviews stated that it made 12 gauge shotguns too heavy. It does add weight, however, I can't think of a scenario where I would be holding my home defense shotgun for hours at a time. Once a week I put six rounds through my shotgun at the patterning board, clean it, and put it back squad car ready near my bed. In a "bump in the night" situation the light will blind the perp or identify a family member. Well worth the added weight and for the time it takes to clear your home who gives a "you know what" what the added weight is?

Best option on the market
There are some other choose to consider when buying a product like that. I had the chance to use them all during a shotgun class and was most impressed by this new surefire design. It has been on my 590A1 for three months now and been abused during a two day combat shotgun course, keep the batteries fresh and this thing will turn night into day when you need it most.

Solid feeling forend. Very bright light. Unfortunately adds significant weight to the front.
Pros:-Super bright light-Fit/feel of the grip, contrary to what some others have said, is not bad. I can maintain a solid grip and still action the gun without problems even though I have small hands.-No need to worry about the light jumping/falling off-I like the fact there is a permanent off switch to avoid accidental drain of the battery.Cons:-A bit of a pain to install, however, that may vary with how many times you've broken down your gun for cleaning.Instructions are pretty crappy, and youtube vids don't help much either (for my 590a1)-Adds fairly significant weight to the gun itself, and obviously towards the front - not great for extended holds, but then again, you probably won't need to be holding it that long. But still, it's something to note.-I'm a right handed shooter, so, accessing the buttons with on the right side of the forend with my left hand (i have a smaller hand) is difficult. The thumb buttons are much easier to access.Tips:For the 590a1 "junior" version that i have, you definitely need the washer extension (trust me, i tried it without and it doesn't work - the forend just slides off). Reason i tried it without at first was because the washer didn't seem to want to fit into the front end just above the light itself. I had to take it apart again and wiggle/shimmy the ring until it finally securely sank in. After that, everything fit well.

Requires Extra Weapon smithing for Mossbergs
Heavier that expected, gives a lot of front end weight, be sure you do your research on compatibility. Not compatible with aftermarket flashlight foreends for Maverick 88 or Mossberg 500. Requires a Shotgun Slide Tube, End Nut & Action Arms 6 3/4 because the slide tube it comes with, the arms are attached to the pump. Then does not pump with the heat shield, had to use a dremel to take it off.

Must have for any self defense or duty shotgun
Perfect product and a must have to any duty shotgun. Easy programing light depending if you want it set to low or high lumins. Master switch is great so it doesn't accidently activate by preasure in your shotgun bag. When I get another shotgun I will definitely put another one on it.

Prefect fit for Mossberg 590.
Great fit for my Mossberg 590. I tried a Streamlight returned it because it fit my Mossberg 590 to loosely.
