Tried and true platform, thats easy for repairs and heavily supported in aftermarket supplies.The brushed system is plenty on 2s Lipos, but I swapped it out for the VXL upgrade, and this thing HAULS!My favorite thing about this 1/16th platform, is the ability to change its purpose. With some extra parts, you can turn it into the 1/16 Erevo/slash or monster truck.Out if the box, it does need some upgrades, to be more reliable on 2s Lipos.-shim the front and rear diff-center diff upgradeOther than that, I reccomend upgrading parts as things break. Depending on how high you jump, and how rough you bash, will determine how many repairs you will be doing!

Seems like a good purchase after buying 2 cheaper RC monster trucks that were under $75.00 that were not hobby grade. Those 2 broke down quickly and could not be repaired. Two of the reasons for buying the Traxxas 1/16 Summit was replacing parts when they broke and it has waterproof components. Have already had to replace parts on the 1/16 Summit, but it is fun RC that is fast. Skate board parks are fun to for quick runs when there are not many people around. Skip the cheap sub-$100 RC monster trucks that you find around Christmas time and buy something better that will last. I do wish the still made the bigger Traxxas 1/10 Summit.

The traxxas summit is a really good looking car, and it is very very funny to drive, however, it has some weak points. First, the design of the front and rear differentials make it easy for the gears to squish and start eating tooth each other. Usually happens when the car is given some power in high traction. I had a problem of this in the past, we fixed it and now it is making some weird clicking noises again. Another weak point is the servo, which is absolutely CRAP. It comes with composite gears, however, they broke really easily and the servo stopped responding really quick. If you are going to buy this car, I highly recommend to get yourself a good servo, like the Savox SW0250 MG, and to buy some spare diffs, you are maybe going to need them!

Do not buy this RC truck it brakes really easy and if you try to replace the parts you can’t because they put lock tight on all the screws to the point you end up snapping the screws or the tools that come with the truck and if you try to return said truck you will only get 50% back Traxxas doesn’t have to fallow Amazon return policy because they are a third party seller BUYER BEWARE!!!!!!
